Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. While you have attempted to identify some data points, the summary is fragmented and lacks a clear overview of the main trends. The description of the data is often confusing, such as the phrase 'superseded at 8000 to 14000', which does not accurately convey the graph's information. Furthermore, the conclusion is incomplete and grammatically incoherent, failing to provide a meaningful summary of the trends. To improve, ensure you clearly state the overall trend for both categories and provide accurate, well-structured comparisons of the data points throughout the period.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks logical progression. While there is an attempt to use paragraphing, the sentences within the paragraphs do not flow logically, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison of the two visitor types. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as 'On the other hand', which is used to introduce a trend that is not clearly contrasted with the previous one. The final paragraph is particularly disjointed and fails to act as a coherent conclusion. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, unified focus will significantly enhance the readability of your work.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and often misused, which hinders clear communication. Phrases like 'digit of the first time visitors' and 'superseded at' are inappropriate in this context. There is also significant repetition of basic terms like 'visitors' and 'tourists' without demonstrating a range of synonyms. Some word choices, such as 'initialised' and 'drown' (likely meant 'drawn'), are incorrect for the context of describing a line graph. To reach a higher band, focus on using precise terminology for describing trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', or 'remained stable', and ensure your word choices are contextually accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence structures, such as 'the amount of first time travellers and returning tourists carry Island'. Many sentences are fragmented or lack the necessary articles and prepositions to be grammatically sound. While there is an attempt at complex sentence structures, these are often faulty and confusing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common errors in tense and word order.
