Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, significantly impacting the task achievement score. Because the response is only 95 words, the information is presented in a very truncated manner. While you have identified some trends, such as the initial decline of first-time visitors and the growth of returning visitors, the analysis is superficial. You have not provided a clear overview of the main trends, nor have you made sufficient comparisons between the two categories. To improve, you must expand your analysis of the data points and ensure you reach the required length to fully cover all parts of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is organized into short paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is limited by the brevity of the text. You use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'By contrast', which helps with the flow, but the overall structure feels disjointed due to the lack of a proper introduction and a concluding summary. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'the data of visitors again climbed up', which does not specify which group is being discussed. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your observations more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and contains several errors that hinder the clarity of your report. There are spelling mistakes such as 'muiltiple', 'dramateically', and 'tourist' (used incorrectly as a singular noun in plural contexts). You also use imprecise phrasing like 'the data of visitors' and 'initiate from', which are not natural in this context. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', or 'remained stable', and ensure you use the correct word forms for nouns and verbs.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammatical range is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentence structures. There are frequent errors in basic grammar, such as 'the muiltiple first and second time tourist' (incorrect noun phrase construction) and 'the data of visitors again climbed up... which stopped at 10000' (awkward relative clause usage). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of capitalization and sentence boundaries. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex structures. Ensure that your sentences are complete and grammatically sound.
