Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the graph, identifying the trends for both visitor types. However, there are inaccuracies in the data reporting. For instance, you state that returning visitors peaked at 16,000 in 2006, whereas the graph shows a different figure. Additionally, the overview is somewhat vague, stating there is a 'noticiable trend' without specifying what that trend is. To improve, ensure you accurately transcribe the data points and provide a more precise summary of the overall trends, such as noting that returning visitors generally overtook first-time visitors by the end of the period.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'Obvisiously' and 'On other hand'. The transition between sentences is sometimes abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally, such as 'In contrast', 'Furthermore', or 'Subsequently', and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through the data.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors, such as 'noticiable', 'Obvisiously', and 'approximatley'. You rely on basic verbs like 'increased' and 'decline' repeatedly. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and synonyms to describe trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'witnessed a sharp rise', or 'remained relatively stable'. Additionally, ensure you proofread your work to eliminate basic spelling mistakes that detract from the professional tone of the report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'Returning visitors has increased' (subject-verb agreement), 'we see can noticiable trend' (word order), and 'in the 2008 year' (awkward phrasing). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing after commas. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and sentence construction. Practising the use of complex sentences with correct relative clauses or participial phrases will help improve your range and accuracy.
