Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to summarise the main features of the line graph, but it lacks a clear overview of the trends. While you have identified some data points, the description is largely a list of figures rather than a synthesis of the information. The task requires you to highlight significant trends and make comparisons, but the analysis is fragmented. For example, you mention specific years but fail to describe the overall trajectory of the two visitor types effectively. To improve, ensure you include a clear introductory summary of the main trends and group the data logically rather than chronologically listing every point.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often repetitive (e.g., 'the visitor is', 'the next two year'). There is a lack of linking words to connect ideas within and between sentences, making the text feel like a series of disjointed statements. Referencing is also unclear at times, such as in the final paragraph where the comparison between the two visitor types is confusingly phrased. Improving the use of transition signals would significantly enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You rely heavily on the word 'visitor' and simple verbs like 'is' or 'high'. There is little attempt to use a range of vocabulary suitable for describing trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', 'declined', or 'remained stable'. Furthermore, there are errors in word choice and phrasing, such as 'the visited people is' and 'the next time the visitor is high'. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise terminology related to data description and avoid repeating the same nouns and verbs throughout the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the visitor... is 10000'), tense usage (e.g., 'Today i describe'), and article usage. Sentence structures are predominantly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and practicing the use of complex structures like relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions to add variety.
