Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the graph, including the trends for both visitor types and their respective peaks. However, the summary is slightly marred by inaccuracies in data reporting and incomplete sentences. For instance, the final sentence is cut off, leaving the data for 2008 incomplete. While the overview identifies the general trends, the lack of precision in describing the data points (e.g., '12000 around') and the incomplete conclusion prevent a higher score. To improve, ensure all data points are clearly stated and the summary is fully completed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. Cohesive devices such as 'on the other hand', 'meanwhile', and 'however' are used to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing and mechanical errors. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the abrupt ending of the final paragraph negatively impacts the overall coherence of the text. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, finished structure would enhance the logical progression.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, with attempts at descriptive language such as 'significantly drops', 'steadily climbed', and 'moderate decline'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'slightly decline' (should be 'slight decline'), 'faces a huge decline' (inappropriate personification), and 'rapidly reveal a huge soar'. Spelling errors like 'visitiors' and 'substantialy' also occur. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of common academic terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('number of returning visitors have', 'first time visitors faces'), incorrect verb tenses ('The line graph illustrate'), and punctuation errors. The use of 'their' instead of 'there' is a recurring error. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors limits the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
