Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. While you have identified the main trends, the analysis is underdeveloped and lacks the necessary detail to fully satisfy the task requirements. You have attempted to report on the data, but the summary is too brief to provide a comprehensive overview. To improve, ensure you include more specific data points from the graph and provide a clearer, more detailed comparison between the two categories throughout the period. The current length prevents a full development of the main features.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organized into a single paragraph, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of ideas. There is a lack of clear paragraphing, which is essential for a structured report. While you use some basic cohesive devices like 'As the time passes' and 'Finally', the overall flow is somewhat mechanical. To improve, you should organize your response into a clear introduction, an overview of the main trends, and separate paragraphs for detailed comparisons. Using a wider range of linking words would also help to connect your ideas more logically and improve the overall readability of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is somewhat repetitive and limited. Phrases like 'new visitors' and 'returning visitors' are used frequently, and there are some awkward collocations such as 'new visited people'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is not sufficient to demonstrate flexibility or precision. To achieve a higher band score, try to use a more varied range of synonyms and descriptive language to discuss trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'experienced a significant surge'. Avoid repeating the same phrasing throughout the text to keep the writing engaging and professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are several grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'The showing graph demonstrate' should be 'The graph demonstrates', and 'new visitors... was in greater number' should be 'were in greater numbers'. You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and there are errors in subject-verb agreement and tense usage. To improve, focus on using a mix of simple and complex sentence structures correctly. Pay closer attention to pluralization and verb forms. Proofreading your work for basic errors in agreement and tense will help you achieve a higher level of accuracy.
