Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. You covered both categories (first-time and returning visitors) and highlighted key peaks and fluctuations, such as the 2006 peak for returning visitors and the 2008 high for new visitors. The data is accurately reported, and the comparison between the two groups is clear. To reach a higher band, ensure that you provide a more precise summary of the overall trends in the introduction or overview, and avoid minor inaccuracies in data reporting, such as the slight confusion regarding the 2004-2006 period for returning visitors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs that group information effectively. You use cohesive devices such as 'However', 'From 2002 onwards', and 'Meanwhile' to guide the reader through the data. While the progression is generally smooth, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the information is presented in a way that is easy to follow. To improve, ensure that referencing is always precise and that the flow between sentences is more natural.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'peaked', 'declined', 'spiked', and 'steady increment'. However, there are some awkward phrasings, such as 'travelled highest' and 'newly and repeated visitors', which are not entirely natural in this context. There are also minor spelling errors like 'approaximately'. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more precise collocations and a wider variety of academic vocabulary to describe trends, ensuring that your word choices are consistently accurate and sophisticated.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is generally effective. There are some grammatical slips, such as 'between the span of 8 years from 2000 respectively' and 'travelled highest in the year 2008', which slightly affect the precision of your writing. Punctuation is generally handled well, though there are some issues with spacing and unnecessary word repetition. The errors present do not impede communication, but to reach a higher band, you should aim for greater control over complex sentence structures and ensure higher accuracy in your verb tenses and preposition usage.
