Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the graph, including the trends for both visitor types. However, the overview is weak; it merely restates the prompt rather than highlighting the significant trends or differences. While the data points are generally accurate, the analysis lacks depth. For instance, the comparison in the final paragraph is vague and does not effectively synthesize the data. To improve, ensure you include a clear overview that summarizes the most striking differences or trends, such as the overall growth in visitor numbers or the distinct patterns of fluctuation between the two groups.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. Phrases like 'As we saw in' and 'In the comparison the both' are awkward and do not flow naturally. The transition between sentences is often abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the connection between the data and the conclusion is weak. Improving the variety and precision of linking words would significantly enhance the logical flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms. There are several spelling errors, such as 'thasunds' (thousands), 'menstioned' (mentioned), 'strating' (starting), and 'stright' (straight). Additionally, word choice is sometimes imprecise, such as 'intersted to revisiting'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the frequent spelling mistakes prevent the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to trends (e.g., 'fluctuate', 'peak', 'decline') and proofread carefully to eliminate basic spelling errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('The number of visitors are'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences lacking proper capitalization or ending punctuation. While these errors do not completely prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. Focusing on basic sentence construction and ensuring subject-verb agreement will help improve the accuracy of your writing.
