Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response attempts to summarize the data, but the information provided is highly inaccurate and confusing. The description of the trends does not match the visual data in the graph, and the figures cited are often contradictory or misread. For example, the claim that the number of visitors 'magnificently declined' is not supported by the data, and the chronological order in the final paragraph is reversed, making the report difficult to follow. The overview is vague and fails to highlight the key features of the graph effectively. To improve, focus on accurately identifying the starting and ending points and describing the overall trajectory of both lines clearly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is severely hampered by the inaccurate reporting of data. The use of cohesive devices such as 'Afterthat', 'furthermore', and 'In the end' is mechanical and sometimes misused. The progression of ideas is confusing, particularly in the final paragraph where the timeline is presented in reverse order, which disrupts the reader's ability to follow the information. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the necessary coherence to present a clear summary of the graph.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often used incorrectly. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'magnificent declined' instead of 'significant decline', 'arrival visitors', and 'substantially inclined'. These errors occasionally impede communication, as the reader struggles to understand the intended meaning of the data. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe trends and comparisons with precision. To reach a higher band, you should learn specific collocations for describing graphs, such as 'a steady increase', 'a sharp drop', or 'remained stable'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often distort the meaning. There are issues with verb tenses ('figure... is increased', 'total 8000 individuals record'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper grammatical control, such as 'which is doubled to their returning significantly declined to reached 4000'. The range of structures is limited, and the errors are pervasive enough to cause difficulty for the reader. Focusing on basic sentence construction and ensuring consistent use of past tense for historical data would be a significant improvement.
