Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 150 words, which severely limits the ability to address the task requirements. The summary is incomplete, as it cuts off mid-sentence and fails to cover the full range of data provided in the graph. Key features, such as the trends for returning visitors and the comparative analysis between the two groups, are entirely missing. To improve, you must ensure you provide a complete overview and describe all data points and trends shown in the graph to meet the minimum length and content requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The response lacks a logical structure due to its unfinished nature. While there is an attempt at an introduction and an overview, the abrupt ending prevents the development of a coherent paragraph structure. Cohesive devices are minimal, and the lack of completion makes it impossible to assess the flow of information effectively. To improve, focus on structuring your response into clear paragraphs: an introduction, an overview of main trends, and two body paragraphs detailing specific data points with appropriate linking words.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, with several spelling errors such as 'liner' instead of 'line', 'returing' instead of 'returning', and 'yaer' instead of 'year'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the ability to describe trends accurately. To improve, you should learn specific terminology for describing graphs, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'reached a peak', and ensure you proofread your work to eliminate simple spelling mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles ('in year 2008'), incorrect verb tenses, and punctuation issues. The sentence structure is simplistic, and the incomplete nature of the text makes it difficult to evaluate a range of complex structures. There are also errors in capitalization and basic sentence construction. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and ensuring that every sentence is complete and grammatically sound.
