The line graph shows the number of first time visitors and returning visitors who visited Caryl Island from 2000 to 2008.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The line graph illustrates the number of first time and returning visitors who visited Caryl Island between 2000 to 2008.

Overall, both returning and first time showed upward trend. However, returning visitors remained the highest and increased steadily, but slightly declined at the end. Meanwhile, first time visitors experienced a sharp decrease at start, then started to rise till the end.

The number of first time visitors to Caryl Island in the year 2000 was 8000, which fell dramatically in 2002 and had amount of 4000. However, they again began to increase and reached the value of 6000 in 2004, which further rose in 2005 and attained its amout of 8000. This increased till the end and had 12000 visitors in 2008.

Meanwhile, at start the returning visitors were only 3000, but increased shaply in 2002, reaching 10000 visitors. These continued to rise till 2006, where it hit the peak with 15000. But in the next year, it declined and reached around 13500 visitors in 2008.
