Student answer (Band 4.0)
This graph represents the people who visited Caryl Island between 1999 to 2009 and this also shows that they are fist visitor or returning visitors.
Initially i started with that visitors who visited the caryl Island first time in his entire life. this graph illustrate the first time visitors were nearly 2500 hundred in the year 2000 and it increases with some passage of time. After few years ago in 2005 the number gone to roughly 13000 people However i were seemed a muscular difference between people who visited island in 2000 and who visited in 2006 But sadly in 2008 the ratio of visitors reduced to 12000 but it is interesting to said that in 2006 the number of people who visited the Caryl Island were 15500 that is good but unfortunately it reduced
Secondly the returning people retio in the year 2000 is 8000 but it decrease for some time but it increases slowly with passage of time but not more than the number of people who visited the Caryl Island first time.
The indispansible thing is that the number of first time people who visited caryl island is huge and compared to other.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response attempts to address the line graph regarding visitors to Caryl Island, but it suffers from significant inaccuracies in reporting the data. For instance, the student misinterprets the start years of the graph as 1999 to 2009 instead of 2000 to 2008. Furthermore, the figures cited for the data points frequently conflict with the actual trends shown in the graph, such as stating that first-time visitors reached 2500 hundred (an incoherent figure) and confusing the trends of first-time and returning visitors. There is no clear, logical overview presented, and the main features are poorly summarised. This places the response at Band 4.0 for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The organisation of the essay is weak. The text is broken into unconventional blocks rather than standard academic paragraphs, making it difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly and inappropriately, such as 'Initially i started with that' and 'The indispansible thing is that'. Referencing is frequently unclear, with pronouns like 'his' and 'it' lacking clear antecedents. There is a lack of logical progression throughout the response, resulting in a disjointed flow that heavily impairs readability, corresponding to a Band 4.0 for Coherence and Cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and occasionally incoherent. Examples include 'muscular difference' (an inappropriate collocation for a chart difference), 'retio', and 'indispansible'. There are numerous spelling errors ('fist', 'illustrate' used instead of past tense 'illustrated', 'indispansible') and severe limitations in word choice. The lexical range is restricted and inadequate for an academic task, meaning the response struggles to convey precise meaning, warranting a Band 4.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
Grammatical control is weak throughout the response. The text contains frequent errors in basic tense consistency, such as mixing past and present ('i started... this graph illustrate... it increases'). Sentence structures are heavily flawed, featuring run-on sentences and frequent grammatical errors that distort meaning (e.g., 'However i were seemed a muscular difference...'). Punctuation and capitalization are also widely neglected. The range of structures is very limited, with frequent errors that cause strain for the reader, placing it at Band 4.0.
