Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to cover the main features of the line graph, providing figures for both first time and returning visitors across the years. However, there are significant inaccuracies in the data reported. For instance, the student states that the number of returning visitors was 'around 1500 in 2000' whereas the graph shows approximately 3000. Additionally, the overview is rather simplistic and contains fragmented phrasing ('While bule line shows first time visitors. It may declined initially the increasing steadily'). While the response addresses the prompt overall, the inaccurate data extraction and weak overview keep it at a Band 5.0 level according to the task achievement descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps structure the information visually. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions, sentence fragments, and poor cohesion. For example, sentences like 'While bule line shows first time visitors. It may declined initially the increasing steadily' fail to form a coherent thought or connect properly to the surrounding context. Referencing is also confusing at times ('Blue figure shows...'). Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, leading to a mechanical and disjointed feel. This aligns best with a Band 5.0 for coherence and cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, heavily relying on simple terms like 'number', 'visitors', 'increase', and 'decline'. There are also spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'bule' instead of blue, 'increaded', and 'visitos'. Phrases like 'the strength of the tourist' are unnatural and imprecise. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey basic data points, the frequent errors in word formation and lack of a wider lexical range restrict the score to Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on the overall adequacy of communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentences, but grammatical control is weak throughout the response. There are frequent errors in verb tense consistency, preposition usage, and sentence structure, such as 'it reached to its peak then declined', 'had to around 1500', and 'after that it may to around 10000'. Several sentences are incomplete or lack main verbs, which causes difficulty for the reader and obscures meaning. These frequent structural errors place the response firmly in the Band 5.0 category.
