Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The student makes a significant mix-up regarding the data series in the body paragraphs, confusing first-time visitors and returning visitors (e.g., stating returning tourists were 3000 in 2000, then attributing subsequent movements incorrectly). While an overview is present, the inaccurate reporting of the data points and trends prevents the response from being fully accurate. However, the writer does attempt to cover the main trends across the period. This performance aligns with Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response is divided into short paragraphs, including a single-sentence overview and multiple very brief body segments. There is an attempt at logical progression, but mechanical and repetitive transitions (such as 'Analysing the line graph in further') disrupt the flow. Referencing is frequently unclear due to confusion over the data series. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, which places this text at Band 5.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is quite basic and repetitive ('increased', 'dropped', 'gradually surge'). There are several spelling mistakes ('diffrent', 'cary', 'fluctuctuet', 'Loking', 'letter' instead of latter, 'gradualle', 'almos') and awkward word choices. The range is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors causing some difficulty in comprehension. This warrants a Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text displays a very limited range of sentence structures, with frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'number of two diffrent types of visitors went', fragment sentences like 'from 2000 first time visitors 8000 compared with approximately 3000', and missing subjects or verbs ('it was significantly rose to reached'). Punctuation is also weak, with stray periods breaking up single clauses. Frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader, placing this at Band 5.
