Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the two visitor groups and report several key figures, including the initial totals of 8,000 first-time visitors and 3,000 returning visitors, as well as the returning group’s rise to 10,000 in 2002. The overview also recognises that first-time visitors led at the start while returning visitors were higher later. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: first-time visitors reached about 11,800 in 2008, not “around 1200,” and the returning total rose to about 15,200 in 2006 before falling to 13,400. The overview would be stronger if it summarised the overall patterns, including the first-time group’s recovery after 2002 and the returning group’s peak in 2006. Develop these comparisons more precisely and consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the two visitor groups. This gives the reader a basic route through the information, and time markers such as “In 2000,” “after that,” and “in the year 2008” help establish sequence. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in the long sentence beginning “Where as the returning visitors…” The phrase “after that” also leaves the reference point unclear, and the overview’s “However before in 2000” is awkwardly connected. Use shorter, clearly ordered sentences and explicit comparisons between the series; this would make the organisation more fluent and cohesion less dependent on repetitive time markers.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant trend vocabulary, including “dramatic downfall,” “growth,” “jump,” and “slight growth,” showing an attempt to describe changes rather than simply list figures. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for a graph report: “tourist visiting back” and “gained more crowed” obscure the intended meaning, while “stats” is too informal and “downfall” is not the best collocation for a decline in visitor numbers. Spelling errors such as “visiters,” “experiancing,” and “aproximate” also reduce precision. Build a more reliable set of formal trend expressions and check spelling and word forms. More accurate vocabulary would help you describe the data clearly without relying on dramatic or conversational wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
There is an attempt to use both simple statements and more complex structures, for example, “Overall the chart stats that…” and the sentence describing the returning visitors’ rise and later fall. The main trends are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors make the relationships between ideas unclear. In “The below line paragraph illustrate,” the subject and verb do not agree, and “first time tourist who visited… were 8000 people” has problems with number and sentence structure. The long final paragraph also joins several stages with limited punctuation, making it difficult to track the changes. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, plural forms, and sentence boundaries, and divide multi-stage descriptions into shorter sentences while retaining some complex structures.
