Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify both visitor groups and include several relevant figures, such as first-time visitors falling to 4,000 in 2002 and returning visitors reaching about 15,000 in 2006. However, the overview is unclear and partly inaccurate: “the number of visitor simultaneously increased” overlooks the first-time decline and the returning-visitor fall after 2006. The final claim that both categories increased from 2000 to 2008 is also misleading because returning visitors ended below their 2006 peak, though above their 2000 level. Some comparisons are vague, particularly the 2004 figures. The response is 139 words, below the required 150, so it also lacks space to report the main trends fully. Give a precise overview and support it with clearer comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing changes over time. Time markers such as “In 2000,” “In 2004,” and “From 2004 to 2006” help the reader follow the chronology. However, progression is weakened by repetition and unclear links. The claim that both categories increased from 2000 to 2008 is repeated, and “But” is used several times without always establishing a meaningful contrast. The overview also conflicts with later details, making the overall account harder to follow. Organise the body around the two series or the main turning points, and use linking expressions to show accurate comparisons rather than simply marking each year.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “first time visitors,” “returning visitors,” “decreased,” and “increased,” so the subject remains understandable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “increased as per the time” and “increased their visitors.” These expressions do not describe the trends naturally and sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. There are also spelling and word-form problems, including “CATAGORY,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for a wider set of precise trend terms and natural collocations, for example “rose steadily,” “fell,” “reached a peak,” and “visitor numbers.” Check spelling and avoid repeating the same verb where a more exact alternative is available.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer sentences with time clauses, such as “But from 2006 to 2008, returning visitors decreased…” This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors are frequent and sometimes make sentences difficult to interpret. Subject–verb agreement is incorrect in “The line graph illustrate” and “both category increased”; articles and plural forms are also missing or inconsistent, as in “the number of visitor.” Several clauses lack a clear grammatical structure, including “first time visitors was approximately 8000” and “returning visitors decreased their visitors.” Use a consistent past tense, check singular and plural agreement, and build comparisons with complete clauses, such as “the number of returning visitors fell to about 13,500.”
