Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the two visitor groups and give a relevant overview: returning visitors rose overall and peaked in 2006, while first-time visitors fell before recovering. Several figures are also accurately reported, including 8,000 and 4,000 for first-time visitors and about 3,000 and 15,000 for returning visitors. However, the overview is not fully precise: first-time visitors did not reach 12,000 in 2008, but about 11,800, and the returning figure then fell to roughly 13,400. The claim that returning visitors “surpass the first time visitors trend” is unclear, since they were already higher in 2002 and remained so thereafter. The response is 21 words below the required minimum, and the short length contributes to limited coverage of the data and comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement, with an introductory sentence, an overview, and a paragraph of supporting figures. The contrast between the two groups is signalled with “In contrast,” and the sequence from 2000 to 2008 is generally easy to follow. However, some linking is mechanical or awkward: “Moreover, after that fall” repeats the same transition, while “While, in 2008” creates an incomplete or poorly connected clause. The overview also combines several trends without making their relationship fully clear. To strengthen progression, organise the details consistently by visitor group or by time period, and use concise links that show the exact comparison rather than adding transitions where the sentence structure does not support them.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “illustrates,” “in contrast,” “upward trend,” and “peak,” so the main trends are understandable. There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “dramatically” and “bullish trend,” but some choices are inaccurate or unnatural for a formal chart summary. “Bullish” is more commonly used for financial markets, and “return tour” does not clearly describe returning visitors. Spelling errors such as “droped,” “slietly,” and “bellow” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, conventional trend language and check spelling; this will make the description more natural without requiring unnecessarily elaborate vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast between visitor groups and a relative clause in “8000, which is dramatically fall around 4000.” Most of the intended meaning can be understood, but some errors in verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction remain. For example, “the number … are significantly increased” should use singular agreement and a suitable tense, while “which is … fall” needs a correctly formed verb. “After that recovered” lacks a clear subject, and “While, in 2008…” is not a complete sentence. These issues do not usually prevent understanding, but they limit grammatical control. Practise forming complete clauses and checking tense and subject–verb agreement in each sentence.
