Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the two visitor groups and report several important movements, including the returning-visitor rise from about 3,000 in 2000 to 15,200 in 2006, followed by a decline, and the first-time visitor fall to 4,000 in 2002 before rising. However, the overview is unclear and partly inaccurate: “the highest numbers of visitors was returning” does not clearly state that returning visitors peaked in 2006, and the claim that first-time figures were lower than returning figures throughout is contradicted by 2000, when first-time visitors numbered about 8,000 versus 3,000. The later description also omits the first-time series’ 2004 and 2006 values. Give a precise overview and compare the two lines at key points.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details, and it uses some linking expressions such as “Furthermore” and “Moreover.” However, the progression is difficult to follow because the two series are not consistently separated: the returning-visitor account is followed by a first-time account that begins “By 2000,” even though 2000 has already been discussed. Some links are also awkward or do not clarify the relationship between ideas, and the final sentence ends without a clear concluding point. Organise the body into one paragraph per visitor group, or compare both groups at each date, and use clear time references to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of trend vocabulary, including “surge,” “dramatically,” “significant decline” and “sky rocket,” but several choices are inaccurate, informal or unnatural for an academic report. Phrases such as “very first time tourists,” “comeback visitors,” “back to home visitors,” “kissed at 13500” and “15000 massives” make the data harder to understand. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “detailes,” “drametically” and “increament.” Use standard labels consistently—“first-time visitors” and “returning visitors”—and choose precise reporting verbs such as “rose,” “peaked,” “fell” and “recovered.” This would make the limited range more effective and clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, but errors in sentence structure and basic grammar occur frequently and sometimes make relationships between figures unclear. For example, “the highest numbers of visitors was returning” has faulty agreement and an incomplete construction, while “its represents surge in 2002 and reach at approximately 10000” has problems with pronoun reference, verb forms and sentence structure. The opening phrase “during the period of 2000 and 2008” also uses an incorrect time construction. Punctuation is inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and a run-on final sentence. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and build longer sentences around a clear subject and verb, checking agreement and punctuation.
