Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both visitor groups and include the main changes across the period, with useful figures such as first-time visitors falling from about 8,000 to 4,000 before rising, and returning visitors peaking at around 15,000 in 2006. The overview identifies an overall rise, but it is too broad: returning visitors did not rise throughout, since they declined by 2008, and the first-time series also began with a fall. Make the key contrast explicit: returning visitors were higher from 2002 onward, while first-time visitors finished at about 12,000. Most figures are close to the chart, though the 2006 first-time figure is nearer 9,300 than 8,000. A more precise overview and comparison would make the report more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and separate descriptions of the two visitor groups. This makes the information easy to follow, and time markers such as “by the year 2002” and “in 2006” help establish sequence. However, the body paragraphs largely list figures rather than showing relationships between the series, and some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “and” and “by the year.” The overview also does not prepare the reader for the returning visitors’ final decline. To strengthen progression, group the main trends and contrasts, and use a wider range of purposeful links such as “whereas,” “after which,” and “in contrast.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for describing trends, including “decreased,” “increased,” “peak,” and “declined,” so the main movements are generally understandable. There is some variety, but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for a graph report: “inclined” does not mean that figures increased, “rose to 10 fold” misstates the change, and “slightly declined of the visitors” is an awkward collocation. Spelling errors such as “summerized,” “returing,” and “incresed” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, conventional trend language and check spelling carefully. For example, describe the returning figure as rising from 3,000 to 10,000, rather than saying it rose “10 fold.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the reader can generally understand the sequence of changes. However, control of sentence structure and verb forms is uneven. The opening sentence has an unclear construction (“the data of the people visiting for the first time”), while “the number … have shown” has subject–verb disagreement. There are also tense and clause problems in phrases such as “the visitors … where about 8000” and “it rose to 10 fold and reach to10000.” Several long sentences join multiple stages with “and,” making punctuation and relationships harder to follow. Use past tense consistently for the historical data, check singular/plural agreement, and divide descriptions into shorter, accurately punctuated sentences.
