Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is believed that zoo should be closed, as we no longer need to have kept animals into the zoos. I agree with the statement; instead of animal in cage, we should make more safari parks where animals are free in parks and visitors are inside a car in order to see the wildlife.

Animals need to be not in cage but be in jungle. Sometimes authorities of zoo treat this animals badly. For example, in Bangladesh national zoo many wild animal leads to death due to lack of proper food. However, instead of wild creature be in zoo, we can make arrangement like an artificial jungle placed where animals are free to move as if it is a tropical forest. Visitors are able to see different animals from inside a car and animals are free to move anywhere as if like we are in cage not them. For instance, in Bangladesh this place is named safari park.

On the other hand, little children are very fond of zoo. They are the reason zoos are existing today. Another aspect is government can get a lot of capital from zoo because lots of people can visit with some expense as entry ticket. All these can be replaced with safari park. This would be benefit for both animals and also the spectator who present at the site with proper safety. Though sometimes some wild creatures attack on cars because they see as a threat, the cars are heavily shielded and proper safety features installed so that no harm can be done by any creatures.

In conclusion, a more animal friendly environment such as the safari park instead of zoo can be installed in order to protect the animals and entertain the spectator in a new way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that conventional zoos should close and propose safari parks as an alternative. You address the main issue with relevant reasons, including animal welfare, the Bangladesh zoo example, children’s interest, and income from visitors. The response also acknowledges possible objections, such as safety and the appeal of zoos to children, then explains how safari parks could address them. Some points, however, are less fully developed: the claim that animals belong in a jungle and the example of deaths from inadequate food would benefit from clearer explanation or support. The discussion of revenue is also brief. More precise development of these points would make the argument more consistently convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction states your view, the body paragraphs present animal-welfare and visitor-related points, and the conclusion restates your proposal. Linking expressions such as “For example,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The second paragraph moves from poor treatment to an artificial jungle and then to the Bangladesh example without always making the relationship between ideas explicit. “They are the reason zoos are existing today” also leaves the reference to “they” somewhat imprecise. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to the point it supports to improve progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “wildlife,” “artificial jungle,” “tropical forest,” “entry ticket,” and “safety features.” These choices help communicate your main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision: “animals are free in parks,” “get a lot of capital from zoo,” and “the spectator who present at the site” do not sound natural in context. “Animal” and “zoo” are also repeated frequently. Aim to learn common word partnerships and use more precise terms for visitors, income, and animal welfare. This would make your argument clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “as,” “because,” and “though,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. Some sentence patterns are handled successfully, such as “Though sometimes some wild creatures attack on cars …, the cars are heavily shielded.” However, errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “zoo should be closed” needs an article or plural form, “many wild animal leads to death” has agreement and number problems, and “This would be benefit” is missing a grammatical form. There are also awkwardly constructed clauses, such as “animals need to be not in cage.” Review these patterns and check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
