Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays many people say that animals no longer need to kept in zoos, so zoos should be closed. Ln this pessage l will discuss both perspectives while l disagree with this statement.

there are many reasons why some people say that zoos should be closed as animal no longer kept in zoos. To begin with, they say it is just waste of money to spent on it. There are many other problem that people face in the country. For example , unemployment, uneducation. Government spent money to address this problem. Government give interest freelone or study offer for poor university student. It is benefit for county in long way. In other words , student know the value of money and more concentration on study and also safe from Drugs and bad companies. Moreover government also allow more industries and motivated young people to own company.

There are many reasons why I disagree with this statement firstly if zoos will not in country the children and people who intersted in animal cannot learn about animals. Secondly lt also effect on economic of the country. To explain it there are lot of visitors who just visits the country because of animal and zoos. Finally close the zoos create more problem like unemployment. The zoos also give work many people for instance security guard and guided who explain the animals good qualities and their life.

In conclusion, of country close the zoo they create more more problems. I think only national zoo will be opened.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against closing zoos. However, the development of ideas is limited. The first body paragraph discusses government spending on unemployment and education, which is only tangentially related to the topic of zoos. The second body paragraph provides more relevant points regarding education and economics, but these are presented as a list rather than being fully explored. The conclusion introduces a new, contradictory idea about keeping only national zoos, which weakens the consistency of the argument. To improve, ensure all points directly support the main thesis and provide more detailed explanations for each argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'Ln this pessage' and 'To explain it there are lot of visitors'. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the first body paragraph where the link between zoo funding and general government spending is unclear. Referencing is occasionally confusing, and the transition between ideas lacks sophistication. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') would help create a smoother flow between sentences and paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'uneducation' (instead of lack of education), 'interest freelone' (interest-free loan), and 'guided' (guides). The repetition of basic words like 'problems' and 'animals' limits the quality of the writing. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated vocabulary and frequent errors in collocation prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on learning topic-specific collocations would be highly beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'if zoos will not in country' and 'the children and people who intersted in animal cannot learn'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text (e.g., 'effect on economic of the country'). Punctuation is also problematic, with missing commas and incorrect spacing. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring consistent use of articles and verb tenses before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
