Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against closing zoos. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention conservation and education, the arguments are repetitive and lack specific, real-world examples to support your claims. For instance, you mention 'species on threat of excitation' (extinction) but do not provide a concrete example of a successful breeding program or a specific zoo that contributes to research. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph contains a clear topic sentence followed by detailed explanation and a specific example to substantiate your point.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'As child will come across some new species than common creatures'. The logical progression is present, but the connections between ideas could be more sophisticated to improve the overall flow of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of incorrect word choice and awkward phrasing, such as 'excitation' instead of 'extinction', 'incline moral' instead of 'improve morale', and 'much attracted means' instead of 'popular attractions'. These errors occasionally impede the precision of your argument. To improve, focus on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and ensure you are using vocabulary that accurately reflects your intended meaning rather than relying on words that sound similar but have different definitions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'zoos has a significant status'), article usage (e.g., 'in contemporary world'), and tense consistency (e.g., 'were being made on to this zoo trip'). While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and verb tense to improve your accuracy.
