Student answer (Band 5.0)
Making an effort to dissolve the zoos,a time to keep the animals out of zoos and closure of whole zoos. I firmly agree at this point .
All zoos should be closed permanently, all species of animals needs to be free. They are at a zoo like a bird living in a cage without its will. Zoo is like a prison for animals .They are cuffed with chains always.
All zoos have to be closed, whole animals needs to be free .They should be put at a wild-jungle to be free entirely .If animals are given their freedom ,they would drink and eat the way they want. They could wander from one place to another .After the closure of zoos ,all animals would know the true meaning of liberty. For instance at Karachi garden zoo more than two dozens of Elephants were freed from a zoo ,they were sent to Africa at their home. And they were seems to have fun at their home-town.
Furthermore, closure of zoos should be done a collective way at the entire world.A campaign and message should be spread regarding the rights of animals and for the closure of zoos in the whole world .NGOS should come forward to spread this message as much as they can.Animal lovers should come forward with unity in-order to free the animals and for the closure of all zoos at their surrounding and at their cities.
To conclude, all zoos should be closed and at those zoos whole animals should be freed. They needs to be sent at a wild -forests so that ,they should know the true meaning of liberty.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of closing zoos. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. While you provide a reason (animal welfare), the arguments lack depth and rely on emotional language rather than analytical support. For instance, the comparison of a zoo to a prison is a valid point, but it is not expanded upon with sophisticated reasoning. The example of the elephants in Karachi is relevant, but the explanation of the outcome is somewhat simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should aim to explore the complexities of the issue, such as the role of zoos in conservation or education, and provide more nuanced arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is often mechanical. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'To conclude', but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are sometimes abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the repetition of phrases like 'all zoos should be closed' makes the flow feel somewhat circular. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically builds upon the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic words like 'free', 'closed', and 'animals'. While you attempt to use some more descriptive language like 'liberty' and 'permanently', the range is not sufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'dissolve the zoos' (which is not the standard collocation) and 'at their surrounding'. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to animal rights, conservation, and environmental ethics, and try to avoid repeating the same basic verbs throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'all species of animals needs to be free'), incorrect preposition usage (e.g., 'at a wild-jungle'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'they were seems to have fun'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement and spacing. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors impede the fluency of the text. You should focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and refining your use of articles and prepositions to improve your accuracy.
