Student answer (Band 5.0)
Many are of the believe that we do not need animals in zoos so zoos should be closed. I partially agree with this point. Description about my point will be given in the next paragraph.
The meaning of zoos means to protect the animal from another animal or other distract things. in zoos government or zoos owner are give food water or take care about their medical care or take care of their babies. zoos are very good things but sometimes people make harmful for zoos. mostly animals or birds are lives in big forest but many people who do not go there to watch them and if the people go there but some animal or birds they watched but some are not watched. so government try to saw all animals and birds to people so they make zoos and in zoos they always take car of them.
I disagree with this point because people should saw all animals just besides the cage without any fear. government should warn that do not gave harm any animals but some people throw foods or stone and get irritate them. so it is bad things that people never give heart to animals. and also some animals are like to live in freedom or free space but they have no space in zoos so some animals are bored in zoos.
Agree with this because people can show the different types of birds and animals very closely. and also people people attract to watch them and paying tickets to watch them to increase economy of country.
In Conclusion, I disagree with this point because people should not give hard to animals or birds for our entertainment people should always protect the wild animals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a position, but the development of ideas is inconsistent and often confusing. While you attempt to present arguments for and against zoos, the reasoning is frequently unclear. For example, the second paragraph attempts to explain the purpose of zoos but struggles to articulate the benefits effectively due to poor phrasing. The third and fourth paragraphs contain contradictory statements regarding your stance, making it difficult for the reader to follow your argument. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on one clear, well-supported point that directly relates to your overall position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow between and within them is weak. The use of cohesive devices is minimal and often inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'so' and 'and also' to connect ideas. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt, and the conclusion does not effectively summarize the main points, instead introducing a slightly different perspective. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') and ensure that each sentence builds logically upon the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'distract things' instead of 'distractions' or 'give heart to animals' instead of 'harm animals'. Some phrases are non-idiomatic, making the meaning difficult to grasp at times. To reach a higher band, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to animal welfare and conservation, and practice using these words in context rather than relying on basic, everyday language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'animals or birds are lives'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many sentences lacking proper capitalization or ending punctuation. These errors occur frequently and occasionally impede the reader's understanding of your intended meaning. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, before attempting more complex structures.
