Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people believe that "No longer need to have animals kept in zoos, so zoos should be closed" But, I completely disagree with this statement. In the following i will give the reason to support my statement
Firstly, Zoos plays an important role in our life specially in children life. Because Zoos help them to know about different living things. Zoos are useful for protecting Endangered animals. These species becomes rare because of hunting , climate change etc. For their protection and proper medical care zoos are important
Zoos can also take part in breeding role and increase the number of specious of endangered animals. They are also important for education purpose. seeing animals in real life increase the interest in wild life. We gain knowledge practically therefore wild-house play essential role in individuals life
To protect various kinds of animals breeds we should have to construct new buildings for this purpose especially government should have to prove some projects and set funds for preserving history of animals
According to my opinion, Its not only one person responsibility for this purpose people should have to know about the importance of wild life. And they have to work on this program instead of saying " Zoos should be closed"
Conclusion is that, Work on projects and create some advertising program that tells people how to protect wild life and how we can take care of them even by a small thing . I think it improves the way of people's thinking

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a disagreement with the idea of closing zoos. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention education and conservation, the points are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For example, you mention 'protecting endangered animals' and 'breeding' in separate paragraphs, which could have been integrated into a more cohesive argument. The response is quite short, and the ideas remain at a general level rather than being fully extended with specific examples or detailed reasoning. To improve, focus on providing concrete examples of successful conservation programs or specific educational benefits to support your claims more robustly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'In the following i will give the reason' is clunky, and the conclusion is introduced abruptly with 'Conclusion is that'. There is also a lack of variety in linking words, with 'Zoos' being repeated at the start of many sentences, which makes the flow feel somewhat repetitive. To improve, use a wider range of linking phrases (e.g., 'Furthermore', 'Consequently', 'In addition to this') and ensure that your sentences flow logically from one to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'important', and 'useful'. There are also some awkward word choices, such as 'wild-house' instead of 'wildlife' or 'sanctuary', and 'prove some projects' instead of 'approve' or 'fund'. Spelling errors like 'specious' (instead of 'species') also occur. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'biodiversity', 'conservation efforts', 'habitat preservation', and 'educational outreach'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Zoos plays', 'These species becomes'), missing articles, and incorrect punctuation. The sentence 'Some people believe that "No longer need to have animals kept in zoos, so zoos should be closed" But, I completely disagree...' is grammatically fragmented and incorrectly punctuated. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and sentence boundaries. Proofreading for small errors like missing 's' on plurals or incorrect verb forms will significantly improve your score.
