Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years, we not longer need to have a different animals kept in the zoos, so zoos should be closed has become a widely debated issues among people of different backgrounds. While some people is longer need to have animals retained in zoos, so zoos should not be closed.I strongly disagree this statement and for the reasons discussed below.
First and foremost, one of the main reasons for my opinion wildlife park should be not closed because many people are employment in the zoos. A clear example of this can be seen in they can get butter flies in the job there government should is not closed the zoos so that peoples houses should not be closed and therefore zoos owner should is not closed zoos because zoos is very important in every country.
Another important factor to consider is zoological garden is very important in life there fore they have a good area in the walk and see the different animals. This can be illustrated fact that many peoples has not see to different animals, the animals who have not seen it go and see it animals and the animals knowledge increase the mind after that it is good place for the entertainment in the children and some peoples go to zoos and spend time to monkeys and lions and etc and zoos is a good place of enjoy for children and family.
In conclusion, for the reasons outlined above that I firmly believe that zoos is very important in every human life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against closing zoos. However, the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. The arguments regarding employment and education are mentioned but not sufficiently supported with logical reasoning or specific, relevant examples. The explanation for the first point is confusing, particularly the phrase 'get butter flies in the job,' which does not clearly convey the economic impact of zoo closures. The second point about education and entertainment is also underdeveloped, relying on vague statements rather than a structured argument. To improve, you should focus on expanding your points with clear, logical explanations and concrete examples that directly support your main argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'First and foremost' and 'In conclusion,' their effectiveness is undermined by the lack of logical progression within the paragraphs. Referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument. For example, the transition between the importance of zoos and the mention of 'monkeys and lions' lacks a smooth connection. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence builds logically upon the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'get butter flies in the job' and 'peoples houses should not be closed.' These errors occasionally impede communication, making the intended meaning unclear. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'conservation,' 'biodiversity,' 'economic stability,' or 'educational resource.' Focusing on learning common collocations and practicing their use in context will help you move beyond basic, repetitive language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'some people is longer need,' 'zoos is very important'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, which makes them difficult to parse. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subjects and verbs agree, and using correct tense forms. Proofreading your work for these fundamental errors will help improve the overall accuracy and readability of your essays.
