Student answer (Band 4.0)
I am of my believe that animals are independent so they should not kept in zoos and they should be in jungle therefor, we should relain them in forest so they can live independently. For instance, in zoos most of the accidents happens on daily basis like lions attack the zoo keepers and monkeys also thats why i fully advocate to keep them away from zoos and it should be closed.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 71 words long. Consequently, the ideas are severely underdeveloped and lack the necessary depth and supporting evidence required for an IELTS Task 2 essay. While a clear position is stated, the arguments regarding animal accidents are anecdotal and insufficient to address the complexity of the prompt. To improve, you must expand your response significantly by providing well-developed paragraphs with clear topic sentences, supporting arguments, and relevant examples to meet the length requirement and demonstrate a more comprehensive understanding of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The response is too short to demonstrate effective paragraphing or a logical progression of ideas. While there is a basic attempt to connect ideas using 'therefore' and 'for instance', the overall structure is fragmented. The lack of a proper introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion makes it difficult to follow a coherent argument. To improve, you should organize your writing into distinct paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of your argument, and use a wider range of cohesive devices to link your sentences and ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. Phrases such as 'I am of my believe' and 'relain them in forest' are inaccurate and unnatural. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and there are noticeable errors in word choice and spelling that hinder the clarity of the message. To improve, focus on learning collocations and more precise academic vocabulary related to the topic of animal welfare and conservation. Reading high-quality articles on similar topics will help you acquire more sophisticated expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. Examples include 'I am of my believe' (incorrect phrasing), 'they should not kept' (missing auxiliary verb), and 'accidents happens' (subject-verb agreement error). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex grammatical forms. To improve, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, specifically verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of prepositions. Practicing the construction of complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions will also help improve your grammatical range.
