Student answer (Band 6.0)

The idea suggesting for the closure of zoos is not a welcome one because of it's effective purpose in the states and country at large. The Zoo has maked as a center of attraction towards picinic and tourist attraction which contributes towards the revenue of the country and also aid towards educational growth in the society today.

The Zoo in general is an envirinment where wild animals and kept, trained, studied and taken care of. It has been of a great source of revenue to the government through the payment of entrance fees, booking of accomodation and zoologist who serves as tour guide to visitors who came for picinic either as singles, couples or families. It also serves as a tourist site of attraction for tourist who visits our country to learn about different species of animals that can't be found in their own countries and also be able to take pictures and upload in their different social media handles thereby promoting our cultures and Neo-wildlife in our country.

The zoo has played a major role towards promoting education and career development among people in the country. Students in the primary and secondary education usually embark on an excurtion to the zoo to learn about animals and their ways of life and also be able to identify if visually than just reading about it in the book and seeing their drawings there too. They can also pick interest in studying Animal husbandry or Zoology in the unviersity which will be benefitial towards securing and preserving animlas lives in the counrty.

I conclusion, i believe that the scramping out zoos in the country sgould not be approved because it will reduce the inflow of tourist leading to decline in our country's source of revenue and poor educational development among our youths and country in general.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have clearly stated your position against the closure of zoos and provided relevant supporting arguments, such as economic benefits and educational value. The response addresses all parts of the task. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive; for instance, the economic benefits are mentioned in both the first and second paragraphs. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points with more specific examples or deeper analysis rather than restating the same concepts. The overall position is consistent, but the arguments could be more nuanced to demonstrate a deeper engagement with the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'In conclusion' and 'It also serves as', to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel repetitive. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'it's' (which is a grammatical error for 'its') and vague references to 'the states and country'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help improve the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your ideas, using terms like 'revenue', 'species', and 'Animal husbandry'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard phrasing, such as 'maked as a center of attraction', 'scramping out', and 'Neo-wildlife'. These errors occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct context. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic terminology would also be beneficial for achieving a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('animals and kept', 'tourist who visits'), incorrect use of apostrophes ('it's' instead of 'its'), and spelling mistakes ('envirinment', 'excurtion', 'unviersity', 'benefitial'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the overall accuracy score. You should focus on proofreading your work to correct basic errors in tense, pluralization, and spelling to ensure your writing is more polished and professional.
