Student answer (Band 5.0)
I disagree with given statement about zoos which is no longer need to have animals kept in zoos. Because the zoos is the place where different people come to see the animals which kept in zoos. In the zoos they are different types of animals, birds like Tiger, Snakes, Crocodiles, Zebras, Elephants, pigoens, Parrots, Ocsticts etc.
For example, Many schools and colleges are go to see the animals which in zoos and the children likes and enjoy by seeing the animals and should the knowledge. About the animals in the zoos the animals are kept in safe places where they are look after the animals in the zoos about the food and health of the animals. In the zoos they maintain the proper safetly where the animals should live proper ways. The zoos should not closed because the people come from the different places to sees the different types of animals and birds in the zoos . My own experience is that i went to the zoos to see the animals which is located in Hyderabad and the ticket was around 500 rupees. they are animals like Elephants, Tigers and more. In zoos it has different birds which i like see in my real life. In that zoo there are many members to see the animals and birds. Many people are come from the foreign to see the animals and birds. So, i disagree the given statement about the no longer need to have animals kept in zoos. The zoos should be open.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against closing zoos. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The arguments provided—educational value and animal welfare—are mentioned but not explored in depth. The essay relies heavily on listing animals (e.g., 'Tiger, Snakes, Crocodiles') rather than providing substantive reasoning. The content is somewhat superficial, and the lack of paragraphing makes it difficult to follow the progression of arguments. To improve, you should focus on developing two or three strong, distinct points with clear supporting evidence or logical explanations rather than listing examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks paragraphing, which is a significant issue for coherence. The text is presented as a single block, making it difficult for the reader to identify the transition between the introduction, body, and conclusion. While there is a basic attempt to link ideas using words like 'For example' and 'So', the flow is often disjointed. The repetition of phrases such as 'in the zoos' and 'the animals' creates a mechanical feel. To reach a higher band, you must use clear paragraph breaks and a wider variety of cohesive devices to connect your sentences and ideas more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use the same words, such as 'zoos', 'animals', and 'birds', throughout the text. There are also errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'pigoens' (pigeons), 'Ocsticts' (ostriches), and 'safetly' (safety). The range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little attempt to use more sophisticated or academic language. To improve, try to use synonyms and more precise terminology related to the topic, such as 'conservation', 'educational facilities', or 'wildlife habitats', and ensure you check your spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the zoos is the place', 'children likes'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'schools and colleges are go to see'), and awkward sentence structures. The range of grammatical structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. There is a lack of complex sentence construction, which is necessary for higher band scores. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and correct verb tense usage, before attempting more complex structures.
