Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 147 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, which remain superficial and under-developed. Furthermore, the content is largely off-topic; the essay discusses 'zoos' as if they were a digital tool or service (e.g., 'improve efficient and convenience in daily life', 'manage their tasks difficulty'), failing to address the actual prompt regarding animal welfare and the existence of zoological institutions. Consequently, the position is unclear and the task is not addressed appropriately.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'Hence'. However, the logical progression is severely hampered by the lack of relevant content. The ideas do not flow logically because the subject matter is confused. Referencing is also problematic, as the pronoun 'it' is used repeatedly without a clear or logical antecedent, making the text difficult to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'advantages has argue that disadvantages' and 'use it in a balance manner'. The student struggles to use appropriate terminology related to the topic of zoos, instead using generic phrases that do not fit the context. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the misuse of words often obscures the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'zoos provides', 'it improve'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures (e.g., 'although has some drawback'). The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with errors. Punctuation is also inconsistent, and the lack of control over basic grammar makes the writing difficult to read.
