Student answer (Band 5.0)

while ,there is on going debate about animal because section of society believes that animals have to live in open area rather than capting in them zoos,i completely disagree with this statement due to that if zoos are closed so how individuals can learn about animals and some species aleready became exist so we have to take care rare animals .

firtst prior cause of my strong disagreement is that, throughout the captivity local people aware various type of animals such as, lion, tiger, elephant so on ,but they no longer kept into zoo so people have to go in wild life which is very dangerous for they life.in forest some animal become very angry and do unsuitable activities which affect other insects as well for that reason we have to put those animals into cages for there good conditions. for example, bbc news article ,claim that 75 % species are in danger due to environment changes.

second prior cause of my arguements that, now days pollution increse day by day which dirrectly affect nemurous animals health. because of human unsuitable behivours of new type of experiment which cause atmosphere ,sea, ocean and other resources those are affected whild life for that animals ought to kept in zoos so they can live peacefully and if any illness they face so immediately export take action .zoos provide various types of facilities to animals .

in conclusion,i strongly consider that all various animals are kept in zoos due to there control exist for that we should support governmentt to provide facility to zoos so they can proper take care animals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against closing zoos. However, the development of ideas is limited and often lacks logical coherence. For instance, the argument that zoos are necessary to prevent animals from becoming 'angry' or performing 'unsuitable activities' is not well-supported and lacks a clear connection to the broader issue of animal welfare. The mention of a BBC article regarding species extinction is relevant but is not effectively integrated to support the main argument. The ideas remain somewhat superficial, and the reasoning is occasionally confusing, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'first prior cause' and 'in conclusion', but they are often used incorrectly or sound unnatural. The flow of ideas between sentences is frequently disrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of the argument. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion lacks the necessary logical links to create a smooth, coherent argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'capting in them zoos', 'local people aware various type', and 'export take action'. These errors sometimes impede communication and require the reader to guess the intended meaning. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'captivity', 'species', and 'pollution', the overall control is weak, and the lack of precision in word usage significantly limits the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'because of human unsuitable behivours of new type of experiment which cause atmosphere ,sea, ocean and other resources those are affected whild life'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with frequent misuse of commas and spacing. While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, they are often faulty, and the high density of errors frequently causes difficulty for the reader.
