Student answer (Band 5.5)
Zoo is the place where the forest Wild animals are kept and every one in the world is aloud to see and gain knowledge about them.In the past few years some of wild animals came near to extinction such animals are now kept in zoo and are taken care off so that they do not disappear from the world, therefore zoo should not e closed.
At first,we know that all the animals belong to the forest and should be in their places,But now due to deforestation and illegal hunting there is rapid decrease in the population of rare and nearly extinct animals .Therefore such animals are kept in zoo as for their care as well as to impart knowledge about them. For example,in my country there was rapid increase in the hunting of rhinoceros there for there species were left less in number so Government took some action and declare hunting of rhinoceros illegal and kept them in zoo for their care take in few years they population increase and their risk to extinction was resolved.
In second prospective,it is considered that wild animal belongs to forest and should live in forest. Its the rule of nature.Neither other nor i ,disagreed from this statement. But rather than humans other species are also part of ecosystem and also play important role along us.so we should take care about them, for example there are many birds that had extinct and are now only known in books. In this regard zoo plays an important role which prevent such species to extinct.
In last it is concluded that animals should live in forest but keeping some of them in zoo is also important,to prevent these animals to extinct.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that zoos should not be closed, provided they serve conservation purposes. The ideas are relevant, such as the role of zoos in preventing extinction and educating the public. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, and the argument could be strengthened by exploring the counter-arguments regarding animal welfare more deeply. While the position is clear throughout, the support for the ideas remains at a basic level, lacking specific, nuanced examples beyond the general mention of rhinoceros conservation. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments with more detailed analysis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate (e.g., 'In second prospective', 'In last it is concluded'). There are instances where the flow between sentences is disjointed, such as the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the logical progression within paragraphs is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'care take' instead of 'care' and 'aloud' instead of 'allowed'. You rely on a limited set of words, and the attempts to use more sophisticated language are often marred by spelling errors or misuse (e.g., 'there for' instead of 'therefore', 'extinct' used as a verb instead of 'extinction'). To improve, focus on learning the correct collocations for common academic topics and proofreading for basic spelling and word-form errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences frequently contain grammatical errors. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage (e.g., 'Zoo is the place'), and punctuation. For example, 'there for there species were left less in number' contains multiple errors that impede clarity. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of errors in basic grammar is high. To progress, you should work on mastering sentence boundaries, ensuring correct verb tenses, and reducing the number of errors in basic sentence construction.
