Student answer (Band 5.0)
No, i completely disagree with this point. in my point of view zoo is a place of entertainment for the people. also there are many people who love to see animals and visit the zoo very often. so by taking animal from zoo is not a good thing because those people who love to animals should now visit the forest to see animal but this is a risky task. it is a risky task in such a way that there are many wild animal who can attack those people and there is a risk of their life. while the animals in the zoo even they are ferocious, the staff in the zoo train these animals in such a way that they are less harmful. It is also a money making making task. Thousands of people daily visit the the zoo. the money come through the ticket can be used for the betterment of the any other site or can be used anywhere by the government. Also if people visit the forests they will less likely to find the animal to who they want to see.Zoo is also necessary because many school and colleges visit the zoo for their research projects. Even some universities also come to zoo for their projects and most of the university students visit the zoo to feed the animals. Some people feed the animals as their hobby. Zoo is also considered as a place to visit. Like the Lahore zoo, their are many school and colleges tours come from different cities to visit the zoo.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a disagreement with the closure of zoos. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. The arguments focus primarily on entertainment and safety, with some points, such as university students visiting to 'feed the animals,' appearing underdeveloped or logically weak. The essay lacks a formal structure, such as an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, which prevents a more thorough exploration of the topic. To improve, you should aim to provide more sophisticated arguments, such as the role of zoos in conservation, education, and scientific research, and ensure each point is fully supported with clear examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is written as a single block of text, which significantly impacts the coherence. There is a lack of paragraphing, which is essential for organizing ideas in an IELTS essay. While there is a basic logical flow, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often repetitive (e.g., 'also', 'so'). The transition between ideas is abrupt, and the lack of clear signposting makes the argument feel like a list of points rather than a cohesive essay. To improve, you must use paragraph breaks to separate your introduction, main arguments, and conclusion, and incorporate a wider range of linking words to connect your sentences and ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to convey complex ideas. Phrases like 'money making task' and 'good thing' are overly simplistic for an academic task. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'taking animal from zoo' instead of 'removing animals from zoos'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the reliance on simple, everyday language prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'conservation', 'biodiversity', 'educational outreach', or 'ethical considerations'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('money come'), article usage ('the the zoo'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain run-on structures that lack proper punctuation. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, which are necessary for higher band scores. For example, the sentence 'in my point of view zoo is a place of entertainment' lacks the necessary articles and formal tone. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct subject-verb agreement, and practicing the use of complex sentences with subordinate clauses.
