Student answer (Band 5.5)

Wildlife is playing crucial role in our eco system. In this fast paced life some people are think that zoos are no longer need to keep animals where as other think that zoos are safe place for animals.I will partically agree with this point and i will discuss this further with some examples.

First of all, Zoological parks are good source of income for any city or country beacause they attract so many visitors towards them that can help to provide more facilities to wildlife. Morevover, zoos are the easy method to enjoy and assume the natural beauty as well as for childrens this is knowledgeable place to learn about wildlife. Most Important part that why zoos necessary that many animals were extinct because of lack care and medical help. For example dodo bird ,Woolly mammoth, moa and many more. The cause is lack of food, climate change and habitant loss.Zoos help to keep wildlife secure and safe. If there is no longer need to have zoos that is impact on jobs of zoologist and also hard for eco systems.

On the other hand, people who think zoos needs to be closed are think that animals have free will to live as humans have because they spend ther most of the life in the artifical habitants. In this way some the animals forget their real talent. For example, in zoos lions, tigers and many more animals whom life depend on hunt but when they get meat without any struggle and they forgot hunting.

In my conclusion, zoos are good place for animals if we really love them because out there so many challanges, struggles and health problems are waiting for them and with that issues some of are extinct and we are no longer see them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The student addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position that they partially agree with the closure or retention of zoos. Relevant ideas are introduced, such as the economic benefits, educational value, and role in protecting endangered species (e.g., mentioning historical extinctions like the dodo bird and woolly mammoth). However, some arguments are under-developed or lack extension, and there is a tendency to over-generalise. For instance, the discussion on animals forgetting how to hunt is somewhat simplistic. Nevertheless, the main task requirements are met with a clear overall stance, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into clear paragraphs with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing both sides, and a conclusion. There is a coherent overall arrangement of ideas. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, with awkward transitions such as 'Most Important part that why zoos necessary' and 'On the other hand, people who think zoos needs to be closed are think that...'. Referencing and logical progression are occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and missing articles, making some cohesive ties less effective. Paragraphing is present and appropriate, but overall the cohesive devices require better control, placing the text firmly at Band 5.5 to 6.0. Band 6 is appropriate as the overall progression is generally clear.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'eco system', 'artificial habitants', and 'extinct'. However, there are frequent word choice and spelling errors, such as 'partically' instead of partially, 'beacause', 'Morevover', 'childrens', 'habitant' instead of habitat, and 'challanges'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they highlight limitations in lexical control and spelling accuracy. The vocabulary is generally repetitive in places, restricting the score to Band 5.5, which rounds down to Band 5 based on noticeable errors causing some difficulty.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'In this fast paced life some people are think that zoos are no longer need to keep animals where as other think that zoos are safe place for animals.' However, there are persistent grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense issues, missing auxiliary verbs, incorrect passive/active constructions ('zoos are no longer need'), and subject-verb agreement problems ('people who think zoos needs'). While these errors rarely completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the text from reaching Band 6. The grammatical control reflects Band 5 limitations.
