Student answer (Band 4.5)
Animals in a zoo are for a basic reason i.e for giving people an experience to look some strange and dangerous kinds of animals and birds from a distance of few metres. . My opinion on this topic is quite different, animals and other species should be in the zoo in strong cages and prisions made of strong material. I want to share my experience when I went to zoo some months ago. like others, I also felt very well to see such strange animals which I seen only in TV or mobile phone. However, keeping the animals in cages and away from natural sources can cause serious effects on ecosystem. I agree to he point that " animals no longer kept in zoos". The main reason to this is keep our evolutionary history safe. By hunting the children of wild animals, and selling them to zoo is distroying wildlife badly. Hunters don't care about the fact that by doing this they are decreasing the generation of many rare species. This ends in the extinction of animals. I am not just saying, I can proove this. In some last years, the list of extinct animals has been increased. The animals which are at the point of been extinct are Markhor, White tigers, Dolphins, White rhinosaurs and so on. We have to stop these huntings to save biodiversity of the Earth. This can be when the zoos would be closed forever. By this, the rare species could be saved and others could be enhanced.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a somewhat contradictory position. Initially, the writer states that animals should be kept in strong cages, but later appears to agree that zoos should be closed to protect rare species from hunting, creating a confused stance. Ideas are presented, such as evolutionary history and extinction, but they are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence. While the writer mentions specific animals like Markhor and White tigers, the argumentation remains superficial and disjointed. Consequently, the task is addressed only partially, reflecting the descriptors for Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The essay lacks clear paragraphing, as it is presented almost entirely as a single dense block of text, making the logical progression difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or repetitively, such as 'I want to share my experience' and 'I am not just saying, I can proove this,' which read more like spoken conversation than academic writing. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as 'This can be when the zoos would be closed forever.' While there is a basic progression of ideas from personal experience to the broader issue of extinction, the overall organizational structure is inadequate, placing it firmly at Band 4.5.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with frequent lexical errors and odd collocations. Examples include 'decrease the generation' instead of 'deplete populations' and 'White rhinosaurs' instead of 'white rhinoceroses.' The writer also makes frequent spelling and word-form errors, such as 'prisions,' 'distroying,' and 'proove.' Although some attempts are made to use less common vocabulary like 'biodiversity' and 'extinction,' the noticeable errors and limited range restrict the score to Band 4.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex forms. There are numerous grammatical errors throughout the response, such as 'to look some strange and dangerous kinds' and 'which I seen only in TV.' Punctuation and article usage are also weak, with missing articles and run-on phrasing. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader and obscure meaning in several places, which aligns closely with the Band 4.5 descriptors.
