Student answer (Band 4.5)
We no longer need to kept animals in zoo,so we should close the zoos. Some people believe that we should close the zoos whilw other think that animal should kept in the zoos, but i do not believe that it should kept cose.
One major advantage of keeping the zoo open is beneficial for children. The children can go and see the animals in a detailed way which helps them to better understanding with animals, although it inceases the children and adults knowledge. It also protect the society from harmfull effect of animals, for example animal can came on roads and destroy the infrastructure of the city, and do massive destruction of things like malls, shops, schools and all other things in the area also animal can harm the peoples in the city.
Another benefit of keeping the zoo open must have job opportunities for people who are unemployed, for example trained people are required to handle and educate the animals in a right manner.Fully experienced team is required to handle the animals. As far as we moved education of animals is very necessary for well being of society so required amount of persons would be there for handling if any problem occur ,for example if a monkey is educate by trainer so they behave in a well mannerd when people came to see them.
From my perspective it is very necessary that zoos will not be closed at any cost.Keeping the zoo open very usefull for children as well as for adults.
In conclusion, keeping animals in zoo not only protect the society it also saves the environment, although it helps the children to improve their knowledge regarding to the animals behaviour,so the zoo will never be closed because it limits the knowledge of the people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against closing zoos, supporting this with reasons such as educational benefits for children and job opportunities. However, the development of these ideas is limited and sometimes repetitive, as seen in the second and third body paragraphs where the same points about education and protection are reiterated. Some arguments are also unclear or unconvincing, such as the claim that animals roaming freely would destroy city infrastructure or that a monkey is educated to behave well. Overall, the task is addressed partially, aligning with Band 5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The essay is divided into paragraphs, which provides a basic structural framework, but the logical progression is frequently disrupted by poor sentence construction and lack of cohesive devices. Transitional phrases are either missing or misused, resulting in run-on sentences and a fragmented flow. For example, sentences like 'The children can go and see the animals in a detailed way which helps them to better understanding with animals, although it inceases the children and adults knowledge' demonstrate faulty referencing and inadequate cohesion. Paragraphing is attempted, but the overall organization lacks smooth transitions between ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with frequent word choice and collocation errors throughout the response. Examples include 'kept animals in zoo', 'better understanding with animals', and 'harmfull effect of animals'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items such as 'infrastructure' and 'unemployed', but these are often used inaccurately or clumsily within context. Spelling and word formation errors, such as 'mannerd', 'cose', and 'whilw', are noticeable and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, limiting the lexical score to Band 4.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences or poorly constructed complex forms that contain frequent errors. Major structural issues include missing auxiliary verbs, incorrect verb forms, and severe punctuation errors (e.g., lack of spaces after commas and periods). Examples such as 'animals should kept in the zoos', 'did massive destruction', and 'zoos will not be closed at any cost' highlight a lack of grammatical control. These frequent errors impede understanding in several places, placing the writing firmly in the Band 4 category.
