Student answer (Band 5.5)
In todays contemporary society, some people say that we no longer need to have animals kept in zoos, so zoos should be closed. I completely disagree with this statement, because this zoos can be used for various purpose like keeping safe rare species or using this infrastructure for other purpose.
Zoos are build in order to keep animals safe or protect them from being extince. It is also build so, people can have knowledge about all the species which are dangerous to humans or which are in danger due to humans. Apex preditors like tigar, lion, leopared, and other are kept in the zoos because they are very dangerous for people to watch in the open field as they might attack. Also, other non dangerous animals are kept in zoos so they can be prevented from being extince. It also helps the young learners to know about all the species either it is big or small, either it is dangerous or not in same place. For instance, if there is education tour zoo where they can pratical experience than they will remember it for forever . It will big impact on the students life as it will be complete different experience than their daily lives.
However, zoos where to be close just because there is no animal to protect than that will be dump idea. This free area can be converted in educational zoos, where students can learn about those species which are extinct from the world. This area can be use as a educaional field, showing how animal used to stay together in groups and how they become extinct from the world. For example, in some part of world government are turning this types of areas into fun themeparks or water parks, where there is moving figures of dinosours which gives both the fun and knowledge at the same time. Rather than completely closing the zoo it will best for using this infrastructures for other purposes, which helps to save expenditure of the government.
In conclusion, zoos are build in order to keep the animals safe from being extincet and provide educational knowledge to the students or all the people around the world at the same time. Furthermore, if this zoos are not in use than they can be transformed into other service providing facilities. Which can be both fun and educational at the same time. Therefor, it will be bad idea to close the zoos just because there is no animals to keep in the zoo.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position disagreeing with the closure of zoos and provides supporting arguments regarding species protection and educational value. The writer extends ideas, such as mentioning apex predators and repurposing empty zoo infrastructure into theme parks or educational fields. However, some arguments lack full depth, and there is a slight digression into futuristic theme parks with moving dinosaur figures, which weakens the focus on actual zoo animals. Nevertheless, all parts of the task are sufficiently addressed, earning a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay is organised into four paragraphs with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, such as 'For instance', 'However', and 'In conclusion'. However, paragraphing and referencing sometimes feel mechanical or slightly awkward, as seen in phrases like 'zoos where to be close just because'. Progression is generally logical, moving from protection and education to alternative uses of the infrastructure, but the overall arrangement suffers from noticeable transitional awkwardness. This corresponds to Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student attempts a range of vocabulary, including terms like 'contemporary society', 'infrastructure', and 'expenditure'. However, there are frequent spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'extince' instead of extinct, 'preditors', 'tigar', 'leopared', 'pratical', 'educational field' used incorrectly for theme parks, and 'Therefor'. While meaning is generally conveyed, these numerous inaccuracies restrict the score to a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, including conditional and relative clauses ('if there is education tour zoo where they can pratical experience than they will remember it for forever'). However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in articles, verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions (e.g., 'this zoos can be used', 'Zoos are build', 'zoos where to be close', 'bad idea to close the zoos just because there is no animals'). These errors are frequent and cause some difficulty for the reader, placing this at Band 5.0.
