Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years, it is argued that many individuals are participating in the ecosystem programs to develop the environmental factors in the society. As I partially agree that to protect the animals by prioritizing their health and ensure that to provide as they live in forests. Many people and children can able to watch wildlife from the zoo.

First of all, animals play a significant role in the exploration of wildlife in the country. The visitors come to watch different species of animals in the zoo to explore the country wildlife. Additionally, the management in the zoo should provide the animals a better life as they live in the forest. Provide them with a spacious place and food as they hunt and eat in the forests.Furthermore, zoo is one of the most visited place across the world. Many parents are providing knowledge and information to their children by bringing them to zoo as a picnic, to encourage them to wildwife. Children also enjoy to connect with the nature and their species of animals.

Secondly, zoos should have enlarged to development of a country and its economy. Zoos have motivated the individuals to take participate in the nature wildlife balance. Whereas the upcoming generation must know about the species of life present in the world can bring different perspectives of the country and its wildlife.

In conclusion, I believe that goverment should take initiative programs for animals who lives in the zoo to protect them and treat as they live in the forests. However, zoos should be opened always to develop the animals knowledge and its importance in the ecosystem to the youth of our country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the prompt regarding whether zoos should be closed, presenting a partial agreement stance. However, the development of ideas is limited and frequently unclear. For example, the introduction is confusingly phrased ('many individuals are participating in the ecosystem programs...'), and the main body paragraphs lack clear, well-supported arguments. While the writer mentions the educational value of zoos and economic contributions, these points remain superficial and under-developed. Sentences such as 'zoos should have enlarged to development of a country' are difficult to follow, which impacts how fully the task is addressed. Overall, the ideas are present but lack the depth and extension required for higher bands, placing this response at Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the overall progression of ideas is disjointed. Although some basic cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'First of all', 'Furthermore', 'Secondly', 'In conclusion'), their application is sometimes awkward or inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'Furthermore, zoo is one of the most visited place across the world' lacks seamless integration. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in pronouns and vague subject references like 'they live in forests' where the antecedent is ambiguous. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal coherence within the paragraphs breaks down due to abrupt shifts in ideas and grammatical stumbling. This performance corresponds to a Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical range is limited and frequently repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and collocation that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Examples include 'ecosystem programs', 'encourage them to wildwife', and 'animals knowledge'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'significant role' and 'perspective', but inaccurate word forms (e.g., 'zoo should have enlarged to development') and spelling or grammatical infelicities limit precision. While basic vocabulary is adequate to convey a general topic, the frequency of lexical errors prevents the response from achieving a Band 6.0, fitting firmly within the Band 5.0 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The text displays a very limited range of structures, with frequent grammatical errors that cause strain and difficulty for the reader. There are numerous issues with subject-verb agreement, tense consistency, and sentence construction. For example, 'Many people and children can able to watch wildlife' contains a modal error, and 'goverment should take initiative programs for animals who lives in the zoo' exhibits agreement errors ('lives' instead of 'live') and missing prepositions. Complex sentence attempts are regularly faulty (e.g., 'As I partially agree that to protect the animals by prioritizing their health and ensure that to provide as they live in forests'). Due to the high frequency of errors across basic and attempted complex structures, a Band 4.0 is appropriate.
