Student answer (Band 5.0)
The issue of kepting animals in the zoos has become a widely discussed subject in the world. Some people hold the opinion that it brings numerous advantages. While, others argue that it has certain drwabacks that cannot overlooked. This essay will discuss both opinion and provide a logical conclusion. As far as my concern, i disagree with this statement.
To begin with, there are severals reason why many individuals support having animals kept in zoos. Firstly, it plays significant role in improving the economy of the government by providing beautiful scenes in the zoos and people will spend money on buying tickets. Fopr instance, for viewing rare animals people are becoming very curious in our country. Furthermore, it contributes in overall progress and development of the nation by encouraging peoples towards zoos and parks. Hence, supporters believe that zoos has positive impact on social and economic growth.
On the other hand, critics believe that it has some negative impacts. It may lead to misuse and dependence which can harm the individuals. Moreover, keting animals in the zoos for several years can harm the mental health of the animals and this will cause the reduction of numbers of animals in the forests. For example, tigers are in rare numbers ein Pakistan due to this cause.
In conclusion, the debated sorrounding this topic will likely to continue as both sides have strong arguments. However, after analyzing the both views it can be clearly seen that kepting animals in the zoos offers more benefits. Therefore, government and individuals should work together for betterment of society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to address the prompt regarding whether zoos should be closed, but the position taken in the introduction ('i disagree with this statement') contradicts the conclusion ('kepting animals in the zoos offers more benefits'), causing confusion about the writer's actual stance. Furthermore, the arguments presented are somewhat basic and lack depth. For instance, the economic argument mentions 'providing beautiful scenes in the zoos', which is quite simplistic, and the claim that tiger populations in Pakistan are declining due to zoo conditions demonstrates weak factual support and limited development. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the lack of a clear, consistent position and under-developed ideas place this essay in Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into four paragraphs, showing a basic structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is flawed due to contradictions and abrupt shifts in ideas. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often awkward or repetitive, such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'On the other hand'. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, and paragraphing lacks smooth transitional flow. The overall arrangement provides some organization, but the mechanical use of cohesive ties and the lack of clear overall progression correspond to a Band 5.0 performance.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, featuring frequent spelling and morphological errors such as 'kepting' instead of keeping, 'drwabacks' instead of drawbacks, and 'sorrounding' instead of surrounding. While the student attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'contributes in overall progress' and 'economic growth', word choice and collocations are often inaccurate ('encouraging peoples towards zoos'). These noticeable errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader and restrict the lexical range to a Band 5.0 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple and straightforward compound sentences. Attempts at complex structures often result in noticeable errors, such as 'While, others argue that it has certain drwabacks that cannot overlooked' (missing auxiliary verb) and 'the debated sorrounding this topic will likely to continue'. Frequent grammatical errors, including issues with passive voice formation, missing articles, and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'zoos has positive impact'), impede fluency and cause difficulty for the reader, placing this criterion firmly at Band 5.0.
