Student answer (Band 5.0)
Zoo is the place where many kind of animals existed. It have many advantages like we can get knowledge about different kind of species from there and also people go and spend quality time with theire kids. It closes us to the nature. We realised that how blessed are we.
At past, the zoos are in good condition. There are many kind of animals with different breed. People go and get knowledge some of them also research on it like their how they produce their offspring. There are every facility available for animals, people who visit and staff who work there. In weekdays, less people visit zoo but on the weekends, house was full of people and their kids. They came and enjoy quality time with their famlies aldo their childern get knowledge about the animals. There are restrooms, centeen and prayer room in the zoo. The tuck shop is full of crowd.
But currently, there is nothing same. Everything changed with the passive of time. Nowadays, zoos are empty and many people show their concern to closed them. There areany reasons of that like people are not taking care of it they pollute and not cleaned. Therefore, animals die and there are few left so people did not came beacuse of few animals and dirty enviroment.
I personally donot agreed on it we should have to clean the zoo and put animals in it so we cak enjoy the same thing we enjoy before. Also, there will made a managentment team who take care of it regulary.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether zoos should be closed, and the writer clearly states a personal disagreement with closing them. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat simplistic. The essay touches upon educational benefits, family recreation, and current issues like poor maintenance, but these points are under-developed and lack robust supporting examples. For instance, the discussion on past versus present conditions remains quite superficial. The writer attempts to cover all parts of the task, but the arguments lack depth, aligning best with Band 5 where ideas are limited and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response is divided into paragraphs, but the organization and progression of ideas are frequently faulty. The transitions between the past condition of zoos and their current state are abrupt. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or are missing, as seen with phrases like 'At past' and 'with the passive of time'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas is erratic, with the second paragraph mixing past observations about facilities with crowd behaviors without a clear logical flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it occasionally difficult to follow the progression of the argument, which places the response securely at Band 5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently impeded by word choice and spelling errors. Examples of awkward collocation and inaccurate forms include 'kind of animals existed', 'closes us to the nature', 'house was full of people', and 'centeen'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'managentment team' and 'offspring', but these are marred by spelling mistakes and awkward usage. The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for conveying simple ideas, but noticeable errors cause frequent difficulty for the reader, fitting the Band 5 descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence forms, and attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty or ungrammatical. There are numerous grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('zoos are', 'house was'), tense inconsistencies ('At past, the zoos are', 'did not came beacuse'), and article usage. Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also problematic, with run-on sentences and fragments. Because errors are frequent, distort meaning in places, and cause difficulty for the reader, the grammar aligns with Band 4.
