Student answer (Band 5.0)

The question about zoozs that they must be open or close is very difficult topic. I am completely disagree that zoozs should not to be closed. In this eassy we are going to talk about this topic.

On the one hand, some people belive that zoozs must be closed because even animals have their own rights. If we catch animals in cages they will be in trouble. It is not good for their heath because living in cages is very painfull. It is also causes stress. For example, the lions and polar bears need a huge place to live small space can cause abnormal behavior and it is also not good mental heath. They must stay in forest because it is a suitable place for animals to live.

On the second hand, the zoozs play a good role in hummans life. Scientist get more information every time through new experiments. They are also good for those species who are almost going to be finish from the world. They are very helpful fo education children's are able to get information because of zoo. For example, a bird called grey parrot was going to finish from the world but with the help of some experts we are able to see him. Now days many people from different countries are killing animals for their sepicial parts like elephant. The elephant was most killed animal in last years because of his horn but now he is very safe in zoo.

In conclusion, the zoozs are very safe place to live for animals and for their life. Humans can get a lot of informations with the help of zoo and it is a good place for animal survival.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The student addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against closing zoos, stating 'I am completely disagree that zoozs should not to be closed.' The response covers both sides of the argument, discussing animal rights, stress, and natural habitats on the one hand, and scientific research, conservation of endangered species, and education on the other. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and lack full academic development, which places the response in Band 5. While examples are provided, such as the grey parrot and elephants, the argumentation remains simplistic and generalisations are frequent. Despite these limitations, all parts of the task are addressed and a position is maintained throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is organised into four paragraphs: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, progression is somewhat hindered by formulaic and awkward transitional phrases like 'On the second hand' instead of 'On the other hand'. While paragraphing is attempted, referencing and logical linking between ideas are frequently faulty. For instance, the transition from the grey parrot to elephant poaching within the same paragraph lacks smooth integration. Cohesive devices are mechanically applied and sometimes inaccurate, leading to an overall impression of limited cohesive control, which aligns with Band 5 descriptors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling errors such as 'zoozs' instead of 'zoos', 'eassy', 'belive', 'heath', 'painfull', 'hummans', 'children's', 'sepicial', and 'informations'. There are also lexical collocation errors like 'going to be finish' instead of 'becoming extinct'. While the student attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'survival' and 'experiments', the range is limited and noticeable errors occur constantly, often causing some difficulty for the reader. These features are characteristic of a Band 5 performance in Lexical Resource.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying predominantly on simple sentences. Attempts at more complex structures frequently result in serious grammatical errors, such as 'I am completely disagree' (incorrect verb form), 'zooops should not to be closed' (misuse of infinitive), and run-on sentences like 'Scientist get more information every time through new experiments.' Punctuation errors are also present, such as unnecessary apostrophes in plurals ('children's'). Frequent grammatical errors cause strain and difficulty for the reader, placing this response firmly in Band 4 for grammatical accuracy and range.
