Student answer (Band 5.0)
Humans does not have to kept animals in locker for show peace and entertainment. so, we should close the zoo. i completed agree with this statement.
To begin with , On earth , significant number of species live there and there are numerous environmental factors for these species, including humans, insects , animals etc.. however, human live in surface and different species live in aquatic , forest as on .. Thus , humans live there life's as they like and sometimes they even cut the forests and kill other species. Which I think is completely wrong because animals do have there own rights and live life as they like for example:zoo which are made by humans for entertainment and kept animals in locker and there whole life spend on this lockers.
Moving towards further, Animals should have right to be happy, play and spend time with there specific species. Although, animals could be dangerous sometimes but without any disturbance they did not interfere humans and we should respect there feelings. In order to do that we should stop distributing animals . Not that ; but also animal helps in balance our atmosphere and they play big roal in food cycle.
To conclude with , Humans have no right to kept animals in order to satisfied our desires . So, zoo should be close and those animals who kept in zoo should be leave in forest . However, government would provide better supply for animals and ensure that animal live in forest peacefully.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the task partially by expressing a clear position of complete agreement with closing zoos. However, the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the writer states that humans should not keep animals in 'lockers for show peace' and mentions animal rights and ecological balance, but these points are not sufficiently extended with detailed explanations or fully realized examples. The main arguments rely heavily on repetitive claims about animals being confined and losing their freedom rather than exploring broader aspects of the topic such as conservation, education, or scientific research. To move closer to a higher standard, the writer needs to expand on each supporting idea with well-developed explanations and more substantial, specific examples that directly bolster the main position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The text shows some organisation with discernible paragraph breaks and basic linking words like 'To begin with', 'Moving towards further', and 'To conclude with', which indicate the general structure of an essay. However, there is no clear overall progression throughout the text, as ideas tend to loop back on themselves rather than advancing logically from one point to the next. Furthermore, cohesive devices are often inaccurate, repetitive, or awkwardly applied, such as 'Moving towards further' and 'Not that ; but also'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs suffers due to disjointed sentence transitions and unclear referencing. To improve this criterion, the writer should focus on using a wider range of appropriate cohesive devices naturally and ensure each sentence builds smoothly upon the previous one to create a cohesive flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task, featuring a basic and repetitive range of words. Throughout the response, there are noticeable lexical errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that frequently impede communication. Examples include 'kept animals in locker' instead of cages or enclosures, 'show peace' instead of showpiece or display, and 'satisfied our desires' instead of satisfying our desires. Additionally, words like 'roal' for role and 'leave' instead of released indicate a lack of precision. Attempts to use less common vocabulary are largely unsuccessful due to collocation errors. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their vocabulary range, learn correct word forms and collocations, and pay closer attention to spelling and precise word choice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex ones. Frequent errors in grammar and punctuation cause considerable difficulty for the reader. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'Humans does not have to kept', incorrect verb forms like 'did not interfere humans' and 'animals helps', and improper article usage and prepositions. Punctuation is also problematic, featuring irregular spacing around commas and unnecessary semi-colons. To progress, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of complex sentence structures while improving accuracy in basic grammar, verb tenses, plurals, and subject-verb agreement to ensure clearer communication.
