Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the modern world, it is argued that zoos should be kept closed, as there is no need of putting animals in a preserve area. I totally disagree with the opinion of closing zoos because it helps animals safe from hunting or shoot down also provides better place for living.
To begin with, zoos are the best place where animlas being preserved from being instinct. As, people like to do hunting and kill them for food, zoos kept them away from this danger. Many people kills animals like deers, chicken and bears for eating fresh meat. For example, deers ration in the USA was reduce by 13% due to hunting for meat. As a result, zoos helps them to placed under a protected area where kill is prohibited.
Moreover, zoos contribution towards country economic will be danger if shut down happens. Zoos attracts childerns because they love watching animals and playing with them from oustide. Zoos are charging their visitors to send time with friendly animals like panda, goats etc. According to recent report by Times of India, zoos contributes to country GDP is 12%. If kept closed, income from this sector will not be there and can affect country GDP. Furthermore, animals get a proper shelter and care if they are inside zoos. Medicial treatment, providing food and keeping their deit can be possible inside the zoos. In winter, some animals don't get proper shelter and fell ill, no care is taken animal will die.
In conclusion, althought there are numerous of adventages of keeping zoos closed, I totally disagree as it will effect country economic of country and animals will kept decreased due to activities

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position that you disagree with the closure of zoos. You support your view with relevant ideas, such as animal protection from poaching and the economic contribution of zoos to a country. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, your point about economic contribution relies on a specific statistic about GDP, but the explanation of animal care in the second body paragraph mixes multiple thoughts, such as shelter, medical treatment, and winter conditions, without fully expanding on any single one. To move to a higher level, you should ensure that every main idea is extended and supported with clearer, deeper elaboration rather than shifting quickly between points.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
Your essay has a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, and you use basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure of your writing. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes affected by mechanical or faulty referencing. For example, in the second body paragraph, transitions between sentences feel a bit abrupt, and the pronoun referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'As a result, zoos helps them to placed under a protected area where kill is prohibited.' To achieve a stronger flow, you need to ensure that your sentences are linked more smoothly and that cohesive devices are used with greater flexibility and precision throughout the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'protected area', 'economic contribution', and 'medical treatment'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that reflect a limited and developing lexical range. For instance, you use 'preserve area' instead of 'preserved area', 'animlas' and 'instinct' instead of 'extinct', 'deers' instead of 'deer', and 'adventages' instead of 'advantages'. Furthermore, phrases like 'helps animals safe from hunting or shoot down' contain inaccurate collocations. These spelling and word-choice errors do not completely impede communication, but to reach a higher standard, you must use less common lexical items more accurately and with better control over word forms and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting complex structures such as 'In the modern world, it is argued that zoos should be kept closed, as there is no need of putting animals in a preserve area.' There are some errors in grammar and punctuation throughout your response, but they rarely impede communication. You make occasional errors with subject-verb agreement and prepositions, such as 'zoos helps them to placed' instead of 'zoos help them to be placed', and 'contribution towards country economic' instead of 'contribution towards the country's economy'. Additionally, article usage and plural forms need closer attention, as seen in 'effect country economic of country'. To progress further, you need to increase your control over complex sentence patterns and produce a higher frequency of completely error-free sentences.
