Student answer (Band 6.0)
Individuals believe that there is no need to keep animals in zoos for which they think it is better to close them permanently. I disagree with this statement.
To commence with, majority of educational institutes teach their pupils about the wildlife and their habitat from zoos only. As they think practical learning majorly overweight the theoritical one. For instance, many schools conduct trips to zoos just to make their pupils learn about different animals and the feed they relay on. If government put ban on such zoos, it will become difficult for schools as well as their students to learn about such animals. Apart from this, zoos plays a vital role in maintaining the national economy as many visitors from different regions prefer to visit zoos in order to learn about their native animals.
Another reason to keep zoos open is, most of the animals feel sence of belongings as well as safety if they put together in a safe place. Such safe places generally refers to zoos. Also, zoos provide regular diet and healthcare facilities to animals by which they can able to survive for a longer period. Finally, zoos help in securing the animals species which are close to get endangered. Such species need an environment where they feel secure from the risk of getting prey. Zoos are the major source which provides such animals they environment they want to live, along with that zoos also provide the food which suits them. For such such reasons zoos should be kept open.
Overall, individuals believe that they no longer need animals to put in zoos for which they want to close them permanently. I completely disagree with this statement as we as human beings benefits a lot from animals and it is our duety to keep them safe and preserve them from getting extinct.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I disagree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, including education, economic benefits, animal care and protection of endangered species, with a school-trip example to support the educational point. This covers the task and shows a sound basis for your argument. However, some claims are asserted rather than explained: for example, the idea that animals feel a “sense of belonging” in zoos needs evidence or qualification, and the economic point is not developed beyond visitors coming to learn. To strengthen the response, explain how each reason supports keeping zoos open and acknowledge the welfare concerns that motivate the opposing view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “To commence with,” “Another reason,” and “Finally” help readers follow the argument. The progression is generally logical, although some linking is mechanical and a few connections are unclear. For instance, the sentence about zoos supporting the national economy follows the education point without explaining the relationship, while “For such such reasons” repeats a connector and does not clearly summarise the preceding ideas. Use more precise transitions and organise each paragraph around one main claim, followed by explanation and an example. This would make the argument’s progression smoother and referencing clearer.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “wildlife,” “habitat,” “healthcare facilities,” and “endangered,” and your meaning is usually understandable. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the argument less clear. Examples include “practical learning majorly overweight the theoretical one,” “feed they relay on,” “sense of belongings,” and “close to get endangered.” “Native animals” is also unclear in the context of visitors from different regions. Aim for natural combinations and check spelling and word forms; using a smaller number of precise expressions is more effective than forcing formal-sounding phrases. Greater accuracy and flexibility with topic vocabulary would make the response more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If government put ban on such zoos, it will become difficult…” and clauses beginning with “as” and “which.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main ideas can generally be followed. However, some errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction remain. For example, “zoos plays” should have a plural verb, “majority of educational institutes” needs an article or a different construction, and “they can able to survive” combines incompatible verb patterns. The sentence beginning “Another reason to keep zoos open is” is also awkwardly punctuated before its explanation. Review subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, then proofread longer sentences for complete, well-formed clauses.
