Student answer (Band 5.5)
Animals are also very important to this world to maintain the balance between nature but some people start keeping them in cage for showcase and for personal pleasure but now most of people has opinion that we no longer need to have animals kept in zoos, and i also think the same way, i will discuss my opinion and will give reason to support.
Animals are not something to kept as a showcase item, they are living thing, for many years we studied them, we kept them in zoos and also use them as a source of entertainments. I don't understant the concept of keeping animals in the zoo, if it is for to see themwhy we can not let them live in a forest and keep them safe there because they are also important for our survival.Fortunately now we have an options such as jungle safari and forest adventure where we don't need to keep animals in cages like we kept in zoos, so therefore zoos should be closed.
From my experience and knowledge i have seen that the chance of animal to survive in a zoo is less than forest ,i also believe that zoo care taker could not take care of animal properly because they are wild animal so there life style is a different.I have also seen rich people keeping wild animal as a passion and hobby which i personally believe that it is totally wrong.
To sum up, I totally agree that we do not longer need to have animals kept in zoos, when we have other options to admire them so, therefore zoos should be closed.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you agree that zoos should close. You give relevant reasons, including that animals should not be kept for entertainment and that alternatives such as safaris may allow people to observe them without cages. The personal observation about wealthy people keeping wild animals also supports your concern for animal welfare. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that animals are less likely to survive in zoos than in forests needs evidence or a specific example, and the suggestion that forests can keep animals safe is not fully examined. Develop these ideas and address possible benefits of zoos, such as conservation, to make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can follow your overall position. You also use linking expressions such as “From my experience” and “To sum up.” However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear because several ideas are joined in long sentences, and connectors can feel mechanical or repetitive. For instance, “so therefore” appears in the second paragraph and again in the conclusion, while the first paragraph moves from nature’s balance to entertainment and then to your opinion without clear transitions. Use one connector where needed, and organise each body paragraph around a single reason, followed by explanation or an example. Clearer referencing would also help readers follow which animals or alternatives you mean.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “cages,” “wild animal,” “forest,” “survival” and “safari.” This gives the response a relevant focus on animal welfare. However, the range is limited and some word choices or combinations are inaccurate, which can make meaning less natural—for example, “for showcase,” “source of entertainments” and “zoo care taker.” Spelling errors such as “understant” and “there life style” also affect clarity. To improve, learn common collocations and use more precise terms for your argument, such as animal captivity, wildlife conservation and natural habitat. Check spelling and word forms carefully, and avoid repeating “animals” and “zoos” when a clear alternative is available.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and your main position is generally understandable. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. For example, “they are living thing” needs plural agreement, while “most of people has opinion” has problems with both the article and subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “I don't understand the concept” runs several clauses together, and “if it is for to see themwhy” is difficult to parse. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a clearly attached supporting clause. Also check punctuation and capitalisation, especially after full stops and when joining independent clauses.
