Student answer (Band 5.5)

It has been observe that some people think we no longer need to have zoos, so it should be closes. Although some of them think that it is very important to have zoo to save endangerd species. I disagree those who claim that there is no need of zoos in public areas. My inclination is elaborated in ensuing paragrapgh and relevant examples.

The foremost argument to justify my stand is that, we need zoos to save the lives of different species, also for the research and educational prograam within the country. For instance, if there is no zoo how will people see them as they don't have direct access to go jungles so they come to zoo to see these species. Besides this, it is also true that zoo causes the production of different diseases, which is spread from different animals and causes more dangerous disorders. but to remove zoo is not the solution. for those who argue that it causes illness, can ask goverment to provide proper services.

Furthermore, the other reason to prove my point is, it is important to have their proper breeding which can happen in the system of zoos, but if there is no zoos it may b cause the downfall of endangerd species within country. also it provides benefits to goverment financially.

To conclude the discussion, it can be said that despite the fact of it causes diseases and may increase the number of diseases, my reason that goverment can make a proper medical systems for zoos to have better enviroment and for boosting the economy through vistors are logically acceptable.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you disagree with closing zoos, and you give relevant reasons, including species conservation, breeding, research, education, and financial benefits. You also acknowledge the opposing concern that zoos can spread disease and offer a response. However, the task is only partly developed: the claims about research, education, breeding, and economic benefits are mostly asserted rather than explained or supported with specific examples. The point about visitors seeing animals is relevant, but it does not fully show why zoos are necessary or how they protect species. Develop fewer reasons in more depth, and explain how a zoo’s conservation work differs from simply displaying animals.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “For instance,” “Besides this,” and “Furthermore” help signal examples and additional points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the discussion moves from conservation and education to disease, then to government services without fully connecting these ideas. The second body paragraph is brief and introduces breeding and financial benefits without developing either. Some transitions, including “To conclude the discussion,” feel formulaic, while repeated references to “my point” and “my stand” do little to clarify relationships between ideas. Use topic sentences and clearer links to show how each reason supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “endangered species,” “breeding,” “research,” and “financially,” so the reader can identify the main subject and arguments. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “save the lives of different species,” “proper breeding,” and “production of different diseases.” Spelling errors, including “endangerd,” “goverment,” and “enviroment,” are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the writing. Aim for more precise expressions, such as describing zoos as supporting conservation or captive-breeding programmes, and check spelling carefully. Avoid repeating general terms such as “important” and “different” when a more specific word would express your meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a concession beginning “Although” and a conditional question about what people would do without zoos. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “It has been observe” has an incorrect verb form, while “I disagree those who claim” is missing a grammatical link. There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “there is no zoos” and the lower-case sentence beginning “but to remove zoo.” Practise accurate clause construction, articles, and singular/plural agreement, then proofread for complete sentences and consistent punctuation.
