Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadaya, many people believe animal should not kept in the zoos and these places should be closed permanently. However, i strongly disagree with this idea.

To commence, zoos plays an improtant role in the society, it can have a positive effect on childrens and adults knowledge about things which are related to animals and zoos. To elabrote, zoos can play a vital role on children's knowledge about different animals. People can observe various species and gain knowledge about their lifestyle and natural habits. This can be particularly beneficial for chilren who have limited knowledge about wildlife. Moreover, different animal can make children happy and provide them with an enjoyable and educational enviornment. Moreover, it also give you a sense of living, how you should enjoy your life. For an instance, many animals have unique abilities and different ways of living. By observing these things, human can get a valuable knowledge about how animals survive in their natural habitats.

Another reason why i disagree, that zoos keep endangered species alive. Many animals like dolphin and White Rhinoceros. Only two white rhinoceros remain in the world, making them one of the most endagered species. They are kept in a zoo which is suituated in Africa. Thus, this is one of the way we can protect endangered species and prevent them from becoming extinct. For an instance, people can learn about endangered species and understand the importance of protecting wildlife.

In conclusion, closing zoos is not a good option in my view. Because it helps people in gaining productive information. It also helps to keep the endangered species kept alive and safe them from becoming extinct.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction, where you state that you “strongly disagree,” and it remains consistent in the conclusion. You give two relevant reasons: zoos can educate visitors and can help protect endangered species. The examples of observing animals and the white rhinoceros support these points, so the response addresses the question. However, the educational argument is developed more fully than the conservation argument, which relies mainly on a brief claim about two remaining rhinos and does not explain how zoo programmes support their survival. The point that animals make children happy is also less directly connected to whether zoos should remain open. Develop each reason with clearer explanation and specific evidence to make the argument more convincing and complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. Linking phrases such as “Moreover,” “Another reason,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main progression. At times, however, cohesion feels mechanical because “Moreover” and “For an instance” are repeated, and some references are unclear. For example, “it also give you a sense of living” does not clearly identify what “it” refers to or how the point connects to the previous sentence. The second body paragraph also moves quickly from dolphins to white rhinoceroses and then to public education. Use more precise referencing and connect each example explicitly to the paragraph’s main claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “various species,” “natural habits,” “endangered species,” and “becoming extinct,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts to use more formal expressions, such as “play a vital role” and “particularly beneficial.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, including “improtant,” “elabrote,” “endagered,” and “gain a valuable knowledge.” Some wording is vague or awkward, such as “a sense of living” and “productive information,” and “For an instance” is not the natural phrase here. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for education, conservation, and animal welfare; this will make your vocabulary more precise and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “animals which are related to animals and zoos” and a conditional structure in “how you should enjoy your life.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but grammatical control is uneven, and errors sometimes make sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “zoos plays” and “it also give,” where subject and verb do not agree, and “many people believe animal should not kept,” which is missing necessary grammatical elements. The sentence beginning “Another reason why i disagree, that…” is also incomplete, while “Because it helps…” is a fragment after the conclusion’s full stop. Practise accurate sentence patterns, agreement, articles, and complete clauses, then proofread punctuation and capitalisation.
