Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent year many speacies of the wild life are kept in the zoos so that they can get better medical fecality and humans can study them closely. However it is necessory to keep them in the zoos because they are ment to live in the natural environment and can face difficulty to live in the zoos. Further this essay will discuss its advantage and disadvantage and in the end I'll mention my prospective.

It is true that zoos provide the food, shelter and medicile fecalities to the wild life and doctors and scientiest can study them easily in compare to catching them in the wild life. The zoo keeper take care of each and every animal personally and provide nutrieses food to them. Whereas childrens can see the wild life closely and can learn about them. People can make the documentry and video graphy about them more convinently.

However zoos provide many facilties but the wild animals are ment to live in the jungles and in natural habituate. They don't feel good to live in the cages if we look closely then we might be able to notice that they are not happy to live in the zoo. Subcequently some time many people disturbe them so their behaviour might be change and become aggrasive to the humans.

To conclue I strongly agree with the statement that says that we no longer need to have animals kept in zoos but it the helth of the animal is not well then only they should kept in the zoo for certain time and when it recovers form the desies then should relese in the jungle back.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your response addresses the question and gives a clear position: you agree that zoos should no longer keep animals, while allowing temporary care for animals that are ill. You also present relevant points on both sides, including veterinary care and opportunities for learning, followed by concerns about captivity and disturbance. However, the discussion is uneven: the benefits are listed, while the central argument against zoos is only briefly explained, and the claim that animals are unhappy is not supported with a specific example. Develop the reasoning by explaining why alternatives such as sanctuaries or protected habitats can provide care without permanent captivity, and make your final qualification clearer.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. The contrast signalled by “However” helps the reader follow the shift in argument, and the conclusion returns to your position. Some connections are less clear or mechanical, though. The introduction promises to discuss “advantage and disadvantage” and your “prospective,” which sounds like a plan rather than a focused thesis. In the first body paragraph, the move from animal care to children’s learning and documentary-making is abrupt. Use clearer topic sentences and explain how each supporting point relates to your position; also ensure references such as “they” have an unmistakable antecedent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “medical facilities,” “natural environment,” “behaviour,” and “aggressive,” and you attempt some less common expressions. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: examples include “speacies,” “fecality,” “nutrieses,” and “habituate.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “in compare to catching them” and “documentry and video graphy.” These issues limit the precision of your message even though the main ideas remain understandable. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases, such as “compared with capturing them” and “film documentaries about them.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if we look closely then we might be able to notice,” and most of the argument can be followed. However, some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms remain. For example, “The zoo keeper take care” needs subject–verb agreement, while “they should kept” is missing an auxiliary and “when it recovers … then should release” lacks a clear subject. The opening sentence also joins ideas in a way that makes the relationship between them unclear. Practise accurate clause construction and check each sentence for a subject and a correctly formed verb; this will make your complex ideas easier to read.
