Student answer (Band 4.5)
Childern like to visit zoos during summer vacation. Some peoples agree not to keep animals in zoos, and should be closed, while somehow other disagree with this decision. I believe keeping animals in the zoos will not be a better option.
On one hand, animals in zoos are kept in a cage, with a limited area to stay. In the forests animals are free to wander around and learn hunting for their survival. Whereas animals in zoos are kept in a enclosure, such situation is not comfortable for wild animal, so zoos should be closed. For example, tigers and lions are wild animals and their nature is to hunt in the forests and roam. If such animals are kept in zoos, they might die of hunger and will loss their hunting skill. Howere, their some animals that are getting exsitin in the jungle such animals should be saved.
On other hand, from 1st century few animals species are getting

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You give a relevant opinion in the introduction and develop one reason: wild animals may suffer when confined, illustrated with lions and tigers. However, the position is not fully clear because “I believe keeping animals in the zoos will not be a better option” does not directly state whether you agree that zoos should close. The second side of the discussion is only begun—“from 1st century few animals species are getting”—and the response ends before explaining this point or reaching a conclusion. The required minimum of 250 words is not met, so the task is addressed only minimally and the ideas remain under-developed. State your position directly, explain both relevant reasons, and support them with complete examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is an attempt to organise the response with an introduction and a body paragraph, and “On one hand” signals a contrast. The example about big cats also follows the point about confinement. However, the overall progression is incomplete: “On other hand” introduces a second argument that stops mid-sentence, and there is no conclusion to bring the response together. Some links are also unclear, such as “Whereas animals in zoos…” after the preceding sentence, and “Howere, their some animals…” does not clearly connect to the example before it. Build complete paragraphs around one main idea each, use linking phrases only where the relationship is clear, and finish with a concluding statement.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “cage,” “forests,” “survival,” “hunt,” and “wild animals,” which helps communicate the central concern. However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “Childern,” “exsitin,” and “Howere.” Phrases such as “limited area to stay” and “will loss their hunting skill” are also not natural or precise. Aim to use accurate collocations for animal welfare and conservation, and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “restricted enclosure,” “natural habitat,” and “endangered species” would help you express the ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, for example, “If such animals are kept in zoos, they might die of hunger,” and use a conditional structure appropriately. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction and basic grammar. Examples include “Some peoples agree,” “in a enclosure,” and “their nature is to hunt,” where number, article use, or sentence structure is faulty. The unfinished sentence beginning “from 1st century” also prevents the reader from following the intended meaning. Practise forming complete sentences, checking singular and plural agreement, and using articles consistently. Read each sentence aloud to identify missing or incomplete parts.
