Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you strongly disagree with closing zoos, and you give relevant reasons concerning animal protection and education. The example about zoos acting as a “safety net against extinction” supports the first reason, while the discussion of students and researchers adds a second relevant point. However, the ideas are only partly developed. For instance, explain how zoo breeding or conservation programmes protect endangered species, and give a specific example of what students learn. The opening claim that animals are “in danger zone” is unclear, and the conclusion mainly repeats your position rather than drawing the reasons together. More precise explanation and examples would make the response address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphing also separates the conservation and educational arguments, helping the reader follow the main points. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and some linking is mechanical or inaccurate. The opening uses several overlapping signals—“First and foremost, firstly, the main reason”—and the second paragraph begins “Furthermore” before presenting another main reason, but the connections between individual claims are not always clear. References such as “this places” and “this species” make it difficult to identify exactly what is meant. Use fewer, more purposeful transitions and organise each body paragraph around one claim, followed by explanation and a specific example.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “extinction,” “species,” “researchers,” and “education,” which helps communicate the main arguments. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate enough to strain clarity. Phrases such as “danger zone,” “safe life of animals,” and “achieve many knowledge” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “controlled environment” is a more suitable phrase than “controlled enviornment,” though spelling also needs attention. Repetition of “very useful,” “important role,” and “this places” further limits precision. Build a bank of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and collocations, especially for conservation, animal welfare, and learning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason-and-result structure in “without these controlled enviornment many species would have already vanished entirely.” However, sentence control is inconsistent, and frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “many animals in danger zone,” “Zoos save this animals,” and “It was provide proper care,” which show problems with articles, agreement, and verb forms. Several sentence fragments or incorrectly joined sentences also appear, such as “because with the help of zoos human seen many species” and “In conclousion, zoos are very useful so they should not be closed .because…”. Practise complete sentence patterns, consistent present-tense forms, and accurate punctuation before adding more complex structures.
